Introduction --------------- Welcome to the Much Games official strategy guide for The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. In this guide, you will learn the basic controls for the game, all of the items and weapons adventure tip, as well as finishing the game. We also have Hyrulean secrets, all heart piece locations, the Kinstone guide, tiger scrolls, ever figurine in the game, and finally, Empty Bottles. ----------------- 2. Basic Controls ----------------- Movement: You can use the D-Pad (Directional Pad) to move up, down, left and right. You can also push and pull objects, as well as jump from a ledge. L Button: This button will fuse Kinstones. Whenever you see a person with a bubble over his head. then you can go up to him, press L, and try to fuse Kinstones with him. R Button: You will perform an action with this button. For example, if you are moving forward and press R, then you will perform a roll. This is also good for opening chests, speaking, and doing anything else that will be displayed at the top right corner of the screen. A Button: You have two options with this button. You can use an Item, as well as speak to someone. It will not matter if there is an item on this button, and you are next to someone because you can still press it and speak to a person. B Button: This button is similar to the A button but only in the Item usage, not the talking. Select Button: When you have Elzo (who will be on your head), and you get stuck, then press this button and you can get help from Elzo. Start: As in most Zelda games, this button will View the Subscreens. Sidenote: If you are playing this game on the Game Boy Player, then you can use the X and Y buttons instead of the Select button. In other words, they will substitute the Select button. Subscreens: Items List: This is where all of your items are located. You can swap around items with the A and B buttons. Movement around to each item as usual is the D-Pad. Quest Status: This subscreen will display a complete list of all quest related items that you have collected. You can also view anything you have learned, any Kinstone pieces you may have and pieces of Heart you have collected. Map: This will be for both overall and local. This will show all of the regions that you have visited. If you want to view a local map, then press the A button on the desired region you would like to look at. Pushing and Pulling: In order to push an object, you will have to standnext to it and press the D-Pad in the direction that you wish to move it. Pushing is a loteasier then pulling. You will need to stand next to the item, then press R in order to pull anitem. One you have grabbed the item, then you can use the D-Pad to pull it. Picking Up and Throwing: In order to pick an object up, you will need to stand next to it and press R. You can throw it by pressing R once again. Some objects will have hearts, Rupees, Kintones, items, or even Fairies in them. You are able to pick up jars, scrubs, and any other object that is not nailed down and light. Rolling: As I mentioned with the R Button part of this section, rolling is one of the actions you can do. As you are moving in a direction, you can press the R button to roll. This will help you out big time with any enemy, or boss when you do not have your shield equiped. Sword Techniques: This one you will learn each time as you game goes by. Each swordsmen has a new technique to teach you. This will help you in the long run. Shrinking and Growing: You will be able to do this once you have saved Elzo. He will explain how it is done. Basically, press R when you are on a Magical Tree Stump to shrink. To grow, stand next to a magical tree stump and press R. You will be recognized by a little head icon. Advanced Abilities: This abilities will be learned automatically: Grip Ring: This will enable you to scale cliffs. You can buy it from the Business Scrub located at Mount Crenel for about 40 Rupees. Power Bracelets: These will give you the strength needed to move the large objects even when you are a small fry. They are located in the Minishsized dungeon behind the fountain in Hyrule Town. Flippers: With these, you can doggie paddle across any body of water as well as dive under water with B. They are located in the Minish dungeon under the Library. -------------------- 3. Items and Weapons -------------------- Here is a list of all the weapons that you can get in the game: Small Shield: Given by Princess Zelda during the Picori Festival. Like all Zelda games, this is used as a blocking tool. Smith's Sword: This was suppose to be given to the King of Hyrule. Instead, you will have this as your sword after what happens during the Picori Festival. Used as your main weapon. Gust Jar: Found in the Deepwood Shrine, you can use this item as both a weapon and as a tool for helping your way around the shrine. It will suck in whatever you need, such as air, or anything that is in your way. Bombs: These items will be given to you after you claim the Earth Element, and by Belari. This as you know will blow anything that is in your path up. Empty Bottle: This you will need to defeat a Business Scrub to get. He is in the Trilby Highlands and you will need to use a Bomb to get to him. Once you have gotten the Empty Bottle he will sell to you, then you can use it for whatever you want. Cane of Pacci: Located in the Cave of Flames, this item will fire a bolt that will flip whateer it hits. This includes platforms, vases, and some enemies. It can also get you to be called Gramps by people while you are holding it. Pegasus Boots: You will get these in Hyrule Town, and by it's name, it can allow you to sprint all over Hyrule. I know Pegasus really is a flying horse. but this can help you sprint not fly This will keep going until you release the button they are on. They will be tough to get. Bow: This will help you pick off enemies that are distant from you. Located in the Castor Wilds Minish caves, you will also have the Light Arrows in this game. However, you will need to do a mini sidequest to get them. Mole Mitts: Found in the Fotress fo Winds, these little guys will help you dig through soft dirt as well as sand. Once you have these, then you can get into the dirt-filled caves aound Hyrule. Ocarina of Wind: This Ocarina is not as powerful as the Ocarina of Time, but it can offer it's handiness. Playing this intrument will call on Zeffa, a bird that will carry you to any Wind Crest that you have uncovered. Flame Latern: This will light up a room, literally. It is in the Temple of Droplets, and you can press the item button to light up the lamp. You can use this to light Braziers, as well as melt small chunks of ice. After defeating a Giant ChuChu, you can earn this item. Roc's Cape: This allows you to leap over barriers and cross gaps. You can hold the item in order to jump further. You will need to survive past three Wizzrobes in the Palace of Winds in order to get this item. You can wear it with the Cane of Pacci in order to really get the old-man look. ----------------- 4. Adventure Tips ----------------- Scour The Land: The best way to get items to fill up your heart continers or other items you may have is to smash every jar, turn over every stone and bomb every crack in the mountainside. This will not help the landscape for Hyrule, but for your quest it will help. Listen To People: Chat with every person that you see. They can provide you with any clues or open any side quests wich could get you some valuable rewards. Be sure to revisit people from time to time to if they have something different to say as the game goes on. Retrace Your Steps: Unless you have a valuable item, then you will not be able to reach some points in the game. If something is there that you cannot get right away, then you might be able to get it later. Take Hearts: The longer that your Heart Containers are the better chance you have of surviving the game. Collect Pieces of Heart whenever you get a chance to in order to expand your meter as long as possible. Section 7 will have all Heart Pieces in there. Find Kinship: Fusing the Kinships will be a fun diversion and can often be usful. You will need to keep in mind that you are able to fuse Kinstones with some people more then once, and there will be others that will not fuse at all until later on in the game. Upgrade Your Arsenal: You can upgrade both weapons and expand the capacity of the Bomb Bag and Quiver. This will give you a distinct advantage not only in battle but also in solving certain puzzles. Check the secrets section (Section 6) for any upgrade details. Train With The Masters: The basic attack may be helpful to defeating Octoroks, but if you think that doing the same against more powerful enemies, then think again. Training with the Swordmasters will help your sword skills. Use The Environment: Take advantage of your surroundings. This can help manover around dungeons and outmanuver your enemies. It is a great strategy when you are facing multiple enemies at the same time. Help Those In Need: Helping those that need your help can be rewarding, although it does not help when you are trying to save Hyrule. Talk To Elzo: If you have trouble remember what you are suppose to do, then press Select and Elzo will help you out with what you are suppose to be doing. The hat can also be some comic relief. ----------------- 5. Strategy Guide ----------------- ----------------------- 5.1 The Picori Festival ----------------------- Once after the usual introduction is done, then it will show Princess Zelda come down to your house. You will be escorting her to around the Pircori Festival. Before you leave your house open the treasure chest to get 20 Rupees. Talk to Princess Zelda as well as follow her around the Picori Festival. Talk to her at each stop and she will make her way to a game located to the lower-right corner. She will pick a shield and give it to you as a prize. Equip the Shield and lead the Princess to North Hyrule Field. There is not much to do at this point except deliver the sword the Smith gave you to Hyrule Castle. This sword will be given to the winner of the tournament the King held. Keep going on the north road and you will eventually see a Deku Scrub (or Business Scrub) that will spit a nut at Princess Zelda. Use your shield to block the nut back at the Scrub. Once the scrub gets hit then he will talk for a minute then go back into hiding. Just continue moving to Hyrule Castle. Once you have made it to Hyrule Castle, then give the sword to Potho. This will begin a scene which will see Princess Zelda turn into Stone by Vaati. --------------------- 5.2 The Earth Element --------------------- Missions To Complete: Recieve the Map and Smith's Sword Go meet the Picori in the Minish Woods Find the Jabber Nut Talk to the Picori Elder Village Enter The Deepwood Shrine Once you wake up after the little scene where you saw Zelda turned to stone, then you will need to go into the King's throne. that is at the bottom of the screen to the left. In this little scene, you will recieve the Broken Picori Blade from the king, along with a map and the Smith's Sword. Once you are done with the King, then you will need to go down into North Hyrule Field and defeat the Octoroks. The carpenters will be blocking the path into Hyrule Town (thanks to Vaati's destruction), so you will need to take the right path. Go right and you will end up at Lon Lon Ranch. There will be more to do there later, right now you are just passing by. Keep going south in Lon Lon Ranch, into the Eastern Hills, then go right (east) and cross the bridge. You will not enter the Minish Woods. Defeat all the enemies that will be in your way. When you come close to Deepwood Shrine (that will be the small white place), then you will be treated to a short scene with a green creature. Before you go and save his but, you will need to get the Heart Piece. You cannot get this piece as a minish, because it will be too big. Once you have obtained the Heart Piece, go and save the green hat-type creature. You will be fighting against two red Octoroks. Nothing too big because they are rather easy. Hit each one with your sword once to eliminate them. Then the cap will thank you and reveal Elzo as his name. Once after you get a chance to move, then move until he hops onto your head. Once this is done, then you can now claim that you have a talking hat (great for comedic relief). Once you are able to move again, then go south back to the location of the tree stump. This will be revealed as a Minish Portal. This will be better to go to the Minish Village. Stand on the stump and press R to shrink. Once you are shrunk, then you can go through the wollowed-out log (the other root you could not take to get to the Minish Village), and hop onto the lilly pads riding one of them to the Minish Village. The Minish as they like calling themselves will speak a different language then what you speak. Go right, up, right, up and right again to cross the bridge, and get another piece of Heart. Once you get that Heart Piece, then go into the building that is next to you. It looks like a castle I know, but that is where Fastari is located. Festari will reveil to you about the Jabber nut. it is in a barrel house located to the south of where you are currently located. Go right, then south, then left, then south again, and finally right. Go down the ladder, and inside, you will need push a block either to the left or right, and then go to the Jabber Nut. Press R next to it and you will be able to understand the Minish people. Climb the ladder and go visit the Minish Elder. He is located in a mushroom house that is on the same road as the Castle house and where Festari is located. This will be in the northwest end of the village. Talking to him will get you access to Deepwood Shrine. Go back to where Festari is located and he will let you through. Just walk north after Festari lets you through and you will be in Deepwood Shrine. ------------------- 5.3 Deepwood Shrine ------------------- From entering the shrine, push the statue out of the way and go through the middle door. Once in the next room, step on all four switches and light up the room. This will reveal a treasure chest. Defeat all the slugs before proceeding to the next room north of this room. There will be a lever on the upper right corner of this room. Pull that to reveal a bridge. Go to the Elastic Mushroom pull it to the right. Once you cannot pull it anymore (using R) then let go and this will send you flying to the next platform. Break any pots in the room, and all slugs that are coming from the ceiling. Enter the next room. This will the main room because of the giant barrel. You cannot defeat the flowers that spit out dust. You will be able to later, trust me. In the meantime, climb the far-right stairs and step on the switch. Walk through the barrel onto the otherside of the room. Climb up the left side steps and place the statue onto one of the switches. It will not matter which one. Once this is done, then step on the other switch, and you will have freed the barrel from the leaves. You can now rotate the barrel just by running inside it. Run on the left side of the barrel until you exit it on the lower-left side of the room. Go through the west door. Pull the mushroom ALL the way back to get to the far platform. Climb the stairs to get the Dungeon Map. Go back to where the mushroom is and pull it HALF-WAY back to get to the platform with the doors. Go through the west door. Push the vase in the next room onto the switch to reveal a bridge. Cross the bridge and go into the next room. In this room, you will need to get the statues on the switches while standing in between them. Easy, push one statue in until you can get inside and be able to get both of them on the platforms. Go to the otherside of the statue you just pushed and push it back to the switch that it was origionally next to. Once that one is on the switch, then pull the other statue on the other switch. This will reveal a chest you can open and get a Small Key. Now with the key, make your way back to the Barrel room and get into the barrel. Rotate it so you can get into the top-right side of the room and then use the key on the locked door. Use the mushroom on the right side of the room to go only as far as what the tread marks show. This will allow you to land on the narrow strip of land in the middle of the room. Step on the switch to extend the bridge. Use the other mushroom to reach the bottom of the room. Go through through the southeast exit. In the next room room, pull the statue that is close to the switch passed the switch. This will be easier so you can push the other statue on the switch and enter the next room. Once in the next room, defeat all of the enemies to get another Small Key. Once you are in the room where you had to make it to the south, you will not have to do that this time. Climb the stairs and enter the next room. Jump down on the lower lever with the pots and break them. You can either go down stairs and get the compass. If you do not want the compass, then ignore the next paragragh and continue to getting the Gust Jar. To get the compass just go down the stairs to Basement 2. On the right side will be a chest with two blocks in the way. Push the right block north and the left block to the west. Then, get the chest to get the Compass. If you got the Compass, then go back upstairs and go into the west room. Keep going until you reach the locked door. Open them and you will need to defeat a Madderpiller to get to the Gust Jar. Strike the Madderpiller's nose and it will freeze opening up it's heart in the back. Attack the heart until it turns red and starts going around the room like crazy. Repeat this process until you defeat the Madderpiller and get the Gust Jar. Use it with A or B and suck the bottom right web to get the Heart Piece. Go back into the room with all the dust and flower creatures. Suck the dust off of them and then strike them with your sword to defeat them. Suck up all of the dust to reveal 3 switches. Two of them will reveal chests with 10 Mysterious Shells. Another one will reveal a Blue Portal that will allow you to get the other Heart Piece in this dungeon. Return to the Barrel and suck up the web at the bottom of the barrel and go down to Basement 2. Use the Gust Jar to swing the Lilly Pad next to you. Then hop onto it and use the Gust Jar to move the Lilly Pad like a boat. Go east on your little leafboat and make your way to the platform with all of the jars. Destroy all but one jar (preferably one that is not next to a wall), and push the remaining jar onto the switch. The spikes will go down and you will be able to continue to the room where the Compass is located. go onto the land and push one of the jars on the switch to reveal a chest next to the torches. You will be able to use the leaf as a bridge to get to the chest and get the Small Key. Go back to almost where you seen the lillypad and instead of going down, go up. There will be a door at the end of the hallway that is locked. Enter the room. Pull back on the first mushroom and fly to the northwest corner. Use the Gust Jar to pull all of the subsequent mushrooms that is within reach and make your way to the Big Key. Now that you the big Key, step on the switch to make a Red Portal. This will take you to the main room. The blue portal will be in the same room, so get into that one to get the Heart Piece. Clear the left Web and go downstairs. This will be a key room, but first you will need to push the block that is below chest to get 20 Rupees. Go back upstairs and remove the right cobweb. Use the Gust Jar to get the mushroom and fling over to the other side. Do this to make it to the Boss Room. Boss: Giant ChuChu You need to use the Gust Jar to suck up all the goo at the base of the Giant ChuChu. When he jumps, roll out of the way, and resume sucking down the base. There will be a point where the Giant ChuChu will not be able to support itself. It will try to land on you so watch out for that. Once it lands, then that is your cue to strike it with your sword. There will be four jars for Hearts if you need them. Repeat this until the Giant ChuChu is defeated. Once it is, then collect the Heart Container and go into the green portal. -------------------- 5.4 The Fire Element -------------------- Return to the Minish Village elder, and speak to him. Once this is done, you will need to go to Mount Crenel, which is where the location of the Fire Element is. You will find a minish named Melari at the top of Mount Crenel. He is the one that can reforge the Picori Blade. The Minish Elder will also let you exit through his secret passage through the forest. Before returning to normal size, visit the minish inventor located inside the mushroom to the north of the minish portal tree stump. He will give you a bomb bag with 10 bombs pack in it. This will be needed for Mount Crenel. Return to normal size and check on the strange looking crest statue. It will be demolished, and after Elzo speaks, then you can continue on. That crest now on the ground will play a key role later on. Go to the rocks that are blocking your way out of the Minish Woods. Use your new-found toy, the Bombs, to destroy the rocks. Once it is safe to move, then go into the Eastern Hills. Go up to the wall in the Eastern Hills wall and look at the cracked section of rock face. Use a Bomb to destroy the rick face and deefat the Keese inside. Open the chest to reveal 20 Mysterious Shells. Go to South Hyrule Field and go behind your house to destroy another crest. Go up to the northwest side of South Hyrule Field and go down the stairs to another rock face. Destroy it and enter it to see a Fairy Fountain. The only thing is that these fairies are not like the ones in the GameCube or Nintendo 64 versions of the Zelda games, where these ones will not replenish all of your health. You can also replenish your health by taking a nap at Link's house, although entering it will let Elzo talk about crashing there permanently. Go to Hyrule Town. Upon entering Hyrule Town, you will come across a character known as the Hurdy-Gurdy Man. He will give you a Kinstone Bag, and will teach you how to use it. Basically, once you stand next to someone with a thought bubble coming of their heads. You will get an example with the Hurdy-Gurdy Man which will open a tree in South Hyrule Field, which will reveal a Heart Piece. This will be key in getting the Light Arrows. See the secrets section on how to get the Light Arrows. They can help you out in the game big time. The big thing about that is that you will need to complete that before you go up to the Clouds later on in the game to get the Wind Element. Go to the house to the left of the bridge (once where a little Cucco will be) and enter, then you can learn a sword technique. You will need this in order to get into the Trilby Highlands. Swiftblade will be the instructor here, as well for a few other techniques. This one will be the Spin Attack. It is a basic attack, which will be needed to demonstrate in front of Swiftblade in order to pass the test and recieve Tiger Scroll #1. The next item you will need is a bigger Wallet. There is one at the Item Shop (The one with the Rupees on the roof, which are part of the design). Pick up the Wallet, and show the store owner. This wallet will cost 80 Rupees, but it will hold about 300 Rupees. Next time you visit that store there will be a Boomerang priced at 300 Rupees. If you want to, then go to the bakery; some of their pastry will be Kinstone Pieces. Go to where the elderly woman is located in the town's central area, and talk to her. She will complain about the dirt on one of the selling areas. Use the Gust Jar to remove the dirt. Talk to her again, and she will complain about something else. Want to earn some quick cash? well the best way to do this is by going to do the Cucco chase. This will get harder as each one goes on, but the best way to earn about a lot of Rupees is to get some Golden Cuccos. You will have a time limit on each challenge, so it is best to get as many as she tells you before time runs out. You can do this as many times as you please, but keep in mind that it will be more harder each time you do it. Eventually, you will get a Heart Piece out of it. Now that you noticed what is going on around Hyrule Town, you will need to go to the guard on the west side of town that is guarding the exit to the Trilby Highlands. This is the only way to get the Mount Crenel. He will ask for a demonstration of the Spin Attack. Show him, and you will on your way to the Trilby Highlands. You will need to take a little detour to get one item you desperately need. Go south and head down a ladder to an underground cave. You will see a wall to the right side of the room that you can blow up. Use a bomb to blow up the wall, and use your shield to deflect the Business Scrub's nut back at it. The scrubs will sell you an empty bottle. You are now ready to climb Mount Crenel. When you first make it to Mount Crenel, you will need to have some water to make a plant grow. Luckly, there is a river around the area. stand next to the river and put some water in the bottle. Pour the water on the sprout that has not grown yet. You now can use this to start climbing the mountain. Ignore the warning sign and place a bomb between two posts to get to that ladder that you see. Once inside, defeat the ChuChu's and climb the ladder. Take out a Bomb and blow the rock that is blocking your way up. Hop on the Stone and shrink yourself, and follow the path where the rock used to be. Once you make it to the end of the little path, take out a bottle and collect the Mt. Crenel Mineral Water. Retuen to normal size and go left and until you reach a wall with a pile of rocks blocking the door. Once inside, defeat the enemies, and use the mushroom on the other side of the cliff with the Gust Jar to make it over. It is easier then using the other one in our opinion. Climb the stairs and use teh Gust Jar to remove the iron masks off of the Helmasaurs. Exit until you reach the end of the adjacent cliff from where you blew up the blocked door. Jump inside the whirlwind and inflate Elzo. Float to the other whirlwind located on your left, and land on the cliff located next to that one. Continue along far west until you reach a deadend on the side of the mountain. Place a bomb between the trees to reveal a secret cave which will have a Heart Piece, 50 Rupees, and a Kinstone Piece. Bomb each rock to get at each item. The Rupees and Kinstone piece are consealed in two Treasure Chests. Go back down to Mount Crenel's Base and climb the roped ladder to the next part. Defeat the minish enemies that might hurt you a bit later in this section. Use the Gust Jar on all of the dust areas to uncover a Minish Hole as well as more importantly, a Portal. Shrink yourself and enter that hole to get a Kinstone Piece. There is another hole in the mountain side where you can get another Kinstone Piece. Go to where the minish enemies where to and pick up a beanstalk seed, and through it into the hole. Return to normal size and put the Mount Crenel Mineral Water on the beanstalk seed. This will create the beanstalk, allowing you to enter the next part of Mount Crenel. Go east, and cross the narrow bridge. Use a Bomb to blow a hole into the mountain. Enter it and defeat the enemies inside. In the second room of this cave, use a Bomb to blow up the cracked block of your choice. Push the other block out of your way and exit the cave. Go and make your way to the cave on the upper cliff on the east side of the mountain. Blow up the door and deflect the nut back at the Business Scrub. talk to it and get the Grip Ring. The only negative is that it costs 40 Rupees, but you will get that back in a matter of time. Anyway, go back down and bomb the wall in between the jagged rocks. Enter and grab the Heart Piece. Go back to the rocks that are not climbable on the left side and start climbing them until you reach the first bit of ground you can land on. Bomb the wall and enter the cave to reveal a Great Fairy Fountain. Throw a bomb into the water and the Great Fairy will appear. She will ask you what kind of bomb it is Gold or Silver. Answer neither and she will reward you with a Bigger Bomb Bag. Continue climbing the mountain and use the Mushroom at the peak of the mountain to fling over to the other side. It will start raining on the other side, so you will need to be careful at one particular part of this section. Shrink yourself and go down to the tiny pathway. BE CAREFUL OF THE RAINDROPs!!! They will take damage if you get hit by one. Rolling will be the best way to avoid them. Once on the other side, get big again and roll the boulders a certain way to get them into each hole. Here are the ways you push them: Left once Up twice Left once Up twice Left four times Down once Left ten times Up four times right once. Once the boulders are in the holes, then you can move the final boulder just enough to reach the ladder and go into the cave. This next section will involve moving some blocks in order to pass the maze. This is of course after you defeated the Helasaurs of course. Here is the order on getting through the maze: Upper Block to the left Lower block to the left Go up, and left and move that block Move the bottom block below you down creating a four block pattern Move the block above you up Go around and move the bottom block right Go down and right and move the upper block right Move the the two odd blocks from the newly created four pattern down Move the final block left. Once this is completed, then exit the cave, and go east into another cave. You will have a choice in this cave. You can use your Gust Jar to suck the pots into the Gust Jar and use the mushroom next to you to get chucked to the other side. Altertnately, you can do the exact opposite and destroy the pots next to you and use the Gust Jar to bring the Mushroom on the other side and chuck you over to that side. Once you are upstairs and reach the bridge which only has a limit. You will need to get a Bomb and throw it to the switch. Once the Bomb explodes, the switch should light up and you will be able to cross the bridge. Exit the cave, go left and enter the cave. Roll the stone into the hole located in front of the statue. Here is the order to push the stone: Down once Left once Down twice Left three times Up once Left once Up once Left once. Push the statue out of the way once you are done this. As well, if you mess up with the stone, then exit the cave and re-enter the cave. This will reset everything and you can try it again. If you want to reach that chest on the left in the next room, then you will need to push the blocks in precise order. The bottom block to the left, the block above that one up, and the top block on the next two to the left. You will now have another Kinstone Piece. When you exit the cave, use the Minish Portal rock to shrink yourself , and follow the path into Melari's Mines. Go down to the basement and talk to Melari. He will start on the Picori Blade while you will need to get the Fire Element from the Cave of Flames. To enter the Cave of Flames, you will have to get to get to normal size. Luckly, there is a Minish Portal you can use that will get you to normal size in front of the Cave of Flames. Use it and enter the Cave of Flames. ---------------------- 5.5 The Cave of Flames ---------------------- In the room to the right of the main room, you will need to use your Shield to start the Bob-omb to run around the room about to explode. Try to make contact with one once again still using your Shield right in front of the small rocks blocking the door, and they will stop again. Eventually, whether it is right away or not, they will explode and you will be able to go to the next room. If you use all four of them, then you can use a regular Bomb to get rid of the rocks. Once in the next room, you will come across a battle with two Spiked Beetles. Use your Shield when they try to ram you to flip them over on their backs, and strike them with your sword to defeat them. Once they are defeated, then you will get the Compass. Go to the cart located on the east side of the first room in Basement 1. You will need to watch out for Bob-ombs and Helmasaurs that are in your way. Basically defeat them the same way you did already. Once you get to the cart, use it to get into the next room. After the ride, see what Elzo has to say. Go west and blow up the rocks from the door and make your way to the next room. Defeat the Helmasaurs and reveal a Minish Portal. Use it to shrink yourself and use the tiny doors to make your way to the room where you can see a big treasure chest. Jump to the next floor by the little space on the left side of the upper part of this room. You will have to go around the flames to get to the Minish Portal. Increase your size and use the Gust Jar to get rid of the flames. Climb the stairs to open the chest and get the Dungeon Map. Proceed through the lava platforms, but you will need to run though them because they will crumbling from under you as you are moving. Open the chest to get the Kinstone Piece. Use the Gust Jar to remove the pots that are in your way before you cross the platforms again. Make your way to the next room. Ride the moving crumbling platforms to the other side (don't worry about it crumbling under you it will give you time) and hit the slugs to make them into balls. They now can be used to fill the holes that are in the gorund. If you put one in the chest, then open the chest to get 50 Rupees. Make sure one of them goes into the the hole next to the pots and destroy them. Climb the stairs and go jump into the whirlwind making your way past the rocks and to the easternmost side of the room. Push the block that you are able to push (the one that is not in the same row as the others) and then grab the chest and pull it to the hole until you cannot pull it anymore. Then go to the otherside of it and push it into the hole. Open the chest to get a Small Key. Go back to the cart and ride it back to where it origionally was. Unlock the door and make your way to the switch. Use your sword to hit the switch, resulting in the track changing. Get back into the cart the cart and ride it to the side where you had to enter when you were Minish. Go up to the room where you see an upside-down cart. That cart will have use later, so do not worry about it. As you may have noticed, there is a Heart Piece in this dungeon. To get it, you will need to cross the rail until you see three pots. Destroy a couple of them and just look below the middle pot. There is a wall that has some blocked rocks there. Blow that up and get the Heart Piece. Go back into the previous room and go to the northeast door. Jump down into the bottom of the next room and get ready for a battle. You will need to fight a group of Metallic ChuChus which will surround you in the middle of the room. Hit them as they jump at you, or alternately, stun them with Bombs. Once you defeat all of the ChuChus, you will get the Cane of Pacci. Use the Cane of Pacci to flip the spiked platform over so you can go on it. You will have to be fast about it because of the very short time limit on the first platform. Once on the other side use the Cane of Pacci once again, but this time at the hole. While the ball is spinning in the hole, jump in it and hold the down button. This will propel you up to the ledge. Step on the switch to activate the Blue Portal, then leave through the door to return to the room with the upside-down cart. Flip the cart over and hop in it for another fast ride. You will stop on the other side of the barrier in the room where you got the Cane of Pacci. Pull the chest up until it is aligned with the hole, then push it into the hole. Open it to get the Small Key. Take a ride back to where the cart origionally was, and go back into the room with the upside-down platform. Open the locked door and enter the next room. You will now be in Basement 2. Use the Minish Portal to shrink yourself and go into the tiny door. Watch out for the green traps, the best thing to do is to make it inbetween them, and wait until it is safe to go. Once you are in the next room, you will need to get to the end of the maze and don't worry about the traps while you are small. They will not touch you because they cannot since you. Once you return to normal size, they will be able to since you, but good thing that you will be able to hide in the between the blocks. Once you make it to the upside-down cart, flip it over and ride it back to the room which you became small in. Hit the switch with your sword and hop back into the Cart. In the next room, you will to get at the switch to get the pillars down. There are four bugs there that will fill the holes. Attack them with your desired weapon (one at a time) and then pick them up, and throw them into the hole. Repeat this step until all of them are in the four holes and you are able to pull the switch to the hole in the northwest side of this room. Then, hit the switch with your sword and go to the next room. Drop down from the ledge in the north end of the room and open the chest to get another Kinstone Piece. Push the top block out of the way to get into the main part of the room. Use the Cane of Pacci into the hole to boost yourself up and get another chest in this room for another Kintone Piece. When you enter the next room, extinguish the flames in front of you with the Gust Jar, or your sword. We prefer the Gust Jar, that way there is no chance of getting yourself on fire. Use the Cane of Pacci to flip the moving patform over. You will have a time limit on this one so make sure that you step on the first platform just before the spiked platform reachs the first platform. When you are given a chance to get on it then get on it on the upper part of the room. Remove the flames to get at the switch, then hit the switch to activate the Red Portal. Ride the platform once again after you reflipped it and ride it south. Flip each platform that is ahead of you. Step onto each one before the one you are currently on crumbles until you reach the next bit of land. In order to reach the next piece of land, you will need to remove the pots first. Use the Gust Jar and remove all of the pots. Then flip your next ride and hop on it to the next piece of land. The following 4 platforms will be a key timing scene. You will need to flip the odd ones and time it perfectly to match with the next piece. Once you make it the other side then you will have made it safely. Once you are on the otherside, then climb the stairs and drop down to the hole. Go to where the traps are and manuver into the next lane as each trap comes toward you. Once you make it to the chest, open it for another Kinstone Piece. Go back to where you seen the two holes and energize the northernmost one. Then enter it and jump on the platform and go to the other side. Use the Cane of Pacci again on the next hole and jump up to the whilwind. Fly to the north ledge and then go east to the next whilwind. Go south on that one to the next ledge, then go back to the lava chamber. Ride a pair of whilwinds over to the southeast corner of this room. Open the chest to get 100 Rupees. Get back into the second whirlwind to the land where the flames are. Remove the flames and energize the hole to get to the upper platform. Ride the next series of Whirlwinds to the southwestern corner of the room. Open the chest to get a Kinstone Piece. Then ride the final set of whirlwinds to the Big Treasure Chest. Open it to get the Big Key. Drop down to the north of where the Big Key chest is located, and for the third time flip the spiked platform. Hop on it and let it bring you to the boss door. Open the door. If you need hearts, then smash open the pots. Once you have all your hearts, then go down the chasm. Boss: Gleerok Get behind Gleerok and aim the Cane of Pacci at the shell on top of it. This will cause the shell to flip hitting it and stunning Gleerok. Then run on Gleerok's neck and start attacking the back. You will have a limited time for it so when you cannot hit it, then run off Gleerok. When Gleerok decides to make the lava move, then get to the most solid ground next to the wall. Watch out for falling rocks. Repeat this process until Gleerok is defeated. Just a side note here, that the flames Gleerok will fire out of it's mouth will cover a lot of ground while the battle rages on. Extinguish them, some of them will help you out with hearts, which is good if you are about to be a goner. Once Gleerok is defeated, then collect the Fire Element, as well as the Heart Container, then go back and see Melari. --------------------------- 5.6 The Wind Element Part 1 --------------------------- Before climbing down the mountain you will need one item. The Picori Blade. Go back to Melari and he will give you the new reformed White Sword (yes formally Picori Blade). You will need to go to the Elemental Sanctuary located in Hyrule Castle. Climb down the mountain and go to Hyrule Castle. Go to the Sanctuary through the basement of Hyrule Castle and drop your new White Sword into the pedestal. This will infuse the blade with the Elements of both Earth and Fire. From there, you will learn how to duplicate yourself, which will come in handy from here on out. To exit the Elemental Sanctuary, you will need to duplicate yourself with while aligned with the corresponding switches. Once you exit the Castle, you will have to deal with a short cutscene mainly between Elzo and Vaati. By the time their little exchange of words ends, you will be blocked of by a ring of rocks fighting two Moblins. When they charge you, just move out of the way and strike them with your sword. After they are defeated, Elzo will mention to you about his real past, and the origin of Vaati and his evil ways. This will also explain how Elzo became a cap. Using your new sword technique climb about 1/2 way up Mount Crenel once again, but this time if you entered the cave on the right where you could not gain entry through the door, then you can now. Using the dublicating technique (which can only be used with a time limit, located at the top left of the screen) use the tiles on the top corner and go up to match with the switches. Once inside, get the Heart Piece and learn the Roll Attack Technique from Greyblade. Once this is done, go back into Hyrule Town and visit Swiftblade. He will teach you a new technique called Rock Breaker. While in Hyrule Town, go into the Shop, and buy the Boomerang. Once you are done with Hyrule Town, go through Lon Lon Ranch and to the Eastern Hills. Energize the hole with the Cane of Pacci, and leap onto the ledge. Enter the Minish Woods from the northwest. A Great Fairy will lie beneath the tree on the little hill in the Minish Woods. Enter there and the Fairy will ask you if you want to through all of your Rupees in the spring. Say Yes, and when she confirms that you would do it then pick Yes again. She will not accept your Rupees, but you will get a bigger Wallet. This one will allow you to carry 500 Rupees. If you never got to visit Swiftblade or Greyblade, then do so. They will teach you the techniques Rock Breacker (Swiftblade) and the Roll Attack Technique (Greyblade). Go to the Cafe in Hyrule Town and use the Cane of Pacci to turn over the jar. Get on the jar and go minish. Exit through the small hole and talk to the dog that is blocking your way down at the southwest end of town. He will move and you will be able to go to the tree in the southwest end of town. Before you return to full size you might like to go around town and check out these spots: Climb the small ladder where the small chick is on Swiftblade's school. Talk to it and it will warn you about being minish will be bad around some chicks and cuccos. You can also fuse a Kinstone Piece the chick. The dog located in the purple house in the southwest corner of town will warn you about some animals that will react differently to you being tiny. Cats and Cuccos are two excellent examples. Enter the Bakery from the tiny hole in the back, and climb over the oven. Be careful of the puffs of steam as you cross. Get past the oven to the narrow ledge. You will find 100 Rupees beyond the far-left corner. As well, on back of the Inn there is a Minished-size opening where you can get a Heart Piece. Climb the minivine loacted next to the stairs in front of the Inn to reach it. Once you are finished with hyrule Town, go to the Trilby Highlands and climb down the same ladder you did when you had to get the empty bottle. This time, use the duplicate technique and push the large block until you cannot push it again. Climb the other ladder to reach the other side of the highlands. Use a Bomb to blow up the hole in the wall and enter it to get a Kinstone as well as some Keese. Go down to the Western Wood. As soon as you enter, you will have a short cutscene involving the King and Vaati. Afterwards, defeat all of the enemies in your way. Some of these will include Moblin Archers and Octoroks. Quickly make waste of them and go to Castor Wilds. Walk through the bad water in Castor Wilds until Link sinks and you cannot see him. Elzo will mention that you will need better footwear. Go to Hyrule Town and enter the SHoestore. Rem will knock over a pair of shoes while he is sleeping. Shrink yourself and talk to the Minish on Rem's desk. They will tell you what you need to get (the Wake-Up Mushroom) and where it is located (Lake Hylia). Go to Lon Lon Ranch where the house there is located. Speak to Talon and he will tell you that the key is inside. Shrink yourself with the Minish Portal tree stump and enter the house through the small hole next to the door. Use the jar that is turned over as the other Minish Portal. Smash the jars in the top right corner of the room to get the key. Return to Minish size, then go to the tree stump portal and get biog again. Talk to Talon and you will be able to go through his house to get to Lake Hylia. As well, Malon will go to Hyrule Town and sell Lon Lon Milk for 100 Rupees. Walk to Lake Hylia and go inside the house. There is a dog in there that you will need to talk to. Shrink yourself and talk to the dog to find out what is wrong. Also, fuse Kintones with the dog as well. Go to Hyule Town and enter the Café. Push the cabinet to reveal a mini ladder, then flip over the jar with the Cane of Pacci. Shrink yourself, climb the ladder, and go into the small hole to bring yourself upstairs with the other minish. Make your way to the Item Shop via the plank between the Café and Item Shop. Once on the other side, defeat the enemies, and make your way downstairs. The Shopkeeper will notice someone there, although he cannot see you until you get big. Once you are big, then grab the bottle of Dog Food, and the shopkeeper will let you take the bottle on the condition that you feed his dog first. Go back to where you seen the dog and feed Fifi. Once you return to Lon Lon Ranch, go to the hole north of Talon's house and energize the hole. Jump into it and go to the whirlwind. Leap off the edge and ride the whirlwinds south until you reach the area just past the big puddle of water. Once you have landed, go into the Minish Woods and make your way to Syrup's Hut (the house with crater-looking roof). Get the Wake-Up Mushroom, and while you are there, why not pick up some Blue Potion. This will help incase you are about to die in battle. Before leaving the Minish Woods, you might want to get the Heart Piece located to the south from where you entered the Minish Woods this time. Go back to Rem's Shoe Store and wake him up with the Wake-Up Mushroom by pressing R while in front of him. He will give you the Pegasis Boots once he made the final adjustment (already thinking they he made them in his sleep that is). Once this is done, then you will get them. Hold A or B depending on whatever button you put them on, and you will be able to run like crazy. Before leaving Hyrule Town again, go to Swiftblade to learn a new attack. This one is the Dash Attack. Return to Castor Wilds and use the Pegasus Boots to get across the muck. Well this is a perfect way to get these babies tested. Once you have made it across the muck, then go to the cave near the center og Castor Wilds and blow it open. Make your way up the stairs and enter the room to fight a Dark Nut. The Dark Nut will block any formal attacks you throw at it, so wait until it attacks and then hit it from behind, or the side of it. Once you have defeated the Dark Nut, then open the chest to get the first of three Golden Kinstones. Exit the cave and make your way to the vines and to the upper most platform. Then climb down the next vine and make your way west to the tree stump (using the Pegasus boots) While on your way watch out for the vines that are in your way. Shrink yourself once you get to the tree stump and walk through the hollow log. Stand on the lily pad and use your Gust jar like you did in Deepwood Shrine to make it to the other side. Jump down the hole and defeat the enemies that are down there. Once you have defeat them, a chest will appear and you will have the Bow. Run back across the muck and make your way to the Eyegore to the north. Destroy it by using your bow and attacking it's eye. Once it is destroyed, then climb the vine and make your way to the whrilwind. Ride it south just past the pool of water. Make your way south until you reach the gravestone. Push it and enter the grave. You will see the Swiftblade, who will only train you when you have all seven Tiger Scrolls. Not hard to get them considering that you already got 4 of them or should have 4 of them. Anyway, make your way to the crest and the Eyegore. Destroy the crest and do the same thing to the Eyegore as you did the previous one. Once it is destroyed, then make your way up the vine and to the next platform to the whirlwind. Ride it to the whirlwind to the bit of land you could not reach and enter the cave. Open the chest to get Golden Kintone Piece number two. Make your way north to the cave to the north on the right side by the bridges between the platforms and climb down the vine next to the final Eyegore. Defeat it and make your way up to the cave to collect the final Golden Kinstone Piece you need. Go down to the southwest end of Castor Wilds and fuse the Gold Kinstones with the statues. This will cause the statues to jump and break the nearby rock, so you can enter the Wind Ruins. Go into the Wind Ruins and keep moving until you see a pink Armos. Bang into it and it will come to life. You can strike these Armos with yourt sword or your arrows to defeat it, or if it is not blocking your path, then just continue along until you reach the tree stump. Once you are at that tree Stump, shrink yourself and enter the Armos. Hit the switch with your sword to activate it. While minish, enter the small hole to get a Kinstone Piece, then return to normal size. Come in contact with it, and destroy it or let it move out of the way. Continue until you reach the next tree stump, then go into the path and destroy the enemies. Once this is done, then shrink yourself and activate the Armos. Go back to the tree stump, and return to normal, then go and defeat the Armos. You will need to enter the Tree Stump and shrink yourself. Go to the far-left Armos and disable it. If you don't then it will block your way and you will not be able to move it. This way, you will be able to get to the next section. Return to normal and destroy the other three Armos' to gain access to the chests for 50 Mysterious Shells and 50 Rupees. Once you are on the final area before the dungeon, you will need to defeat all of the enemies including the Beetles hiding under rocks in order to get the gates lowered and gain access to the dungeon. Once this is done, then go into the Fortress of Winds. ------------------------- 5.7 The Fortress of Winds ------------------------- Go into the first door you have access to on the left, and go up the stairs. Beware of the skulls on the gorund. The middle ones will fly at you so make sure you use your shield to defend them off, and use your sword on the other ones. To gain access to the next room, shoot an arrow at the eye to open the next room. Once in the next room, defeat the four Blue Stalfos to gain access to the south door. The best way to defeat them is to roll out of the way as they jump at you, then use the Roll Attack on them if you have it. If not, then defeat them with arrows. When you enter the next room, be careful of the fake Rupees. These Rupee-like enemies will steal Rupees on you by the amount that the head looks like. Defeating them will get you the Rupeethat they were hiding like, as well if they did steal your Rupees, then you will get most of it back. There is a way to defeat the Electric Ball as well. If you bought the Boomerang from the shop in Hyrule Town, then use that on them, and you will get a Fairy out of it. Once you make it to the room with the moving platforms, step on the left platform and make your way to the platform that is going from east to west. Shoot two arrows on the eyes that are to the north of the room. You will have a short time limit to do this, so you will have to be accurate about it. Once you have access to the north door, then enter it and get ready for battle. Duplicate yourself so that you are aligned with the switches, then stand on the switches to get the Eyegores to activate. Defeat them the same way you did at Castor Wilds. Once you have done this, open the appearing chest and get the Compass. Return to the previous room and use your arrows to open the east door (the same way as you did the north door). Enter the room and defeat the enemies as well as destroying the skulls on the glowing panels. Dupicate yourself and push the large stone east. Once that is done, cancel the duplicate and recharge another one to push the stone north. Pull the level to make a key drop to the first floor. Fall down the hole to get to the key. Go into the middle room and go up the stairs. Defeat all of the Stalfos (the blue ones that will try to jump on you) with the roll attack, then defeat both Eyegores. Once that is done, then climb the stairs and get the Dungeon Map. Go up to the doors and unlock the one on the left. The right one you will worry about later on. Ride the moving platform and watch out for the floating blocks. They will try to get you off the platform if you stay still. Move either left or right to avoid the middle ones and depending on what side you chose, then go to the middle again. Keep doing this until you reach the other side. In the next room, you will need to extend the bridge, but before doing that, watch out for the shadow that will try to grab you and send you back to the beginning of the dungeon. That is the Wallmaster. When the shadow drops, roll out of the way, and try a Roll Attack on it to defeat it. To extend the bridge, just fire two arrows at the two eyes. Then enter the next room and prepare for battle. When you try to leave the next room, the doors will shut and you will be confronted by a Dark Nut. The best thing to do in this situation is to stun it using Bombs and strike it, or dodge the attack it does and attack it from behind. Once the Dark Nut is defeated, then you can go through the south door, and a Blue Portal will be unlocked. Follow behind the traps in the next room, and make sure that you keep going until you hit the switch on the east side of the room. Be careful of the middle of the room, because of the hole so that you don't fall down. Once you hit the switch, keep following the traps until you reach the south door, then enter the South door. Go east and plant a bomb between the two skulls. Go into that room, and open the chest to get the Mole Mitts. There is a little chest in the dirt, so that will provide you with a sample of what the Mole Mitts will do. Once you get the small chest and the 100 Rupees, exit the room and go back to the first floor. Use the Mole Mitts to dig your way to the far left room and enter the room. There will be two Wizzrobes there to fight. Just dodge their magic and attack them with your sword to defeat them. Once they are defeatd, you will get 80 Mysterious shells if you open the chest. Go to the fourth room on the first floor and make your way up the stairs. Defeat the Stalfos as well as the Spark to get the Fairy, then pull on the right lever. This will make a chest appear with a Kinstone Piece inside. After opening up the chest on the left side for another Kinstone Piece, then pull the lever on the bottom left side to open the south door. Enter the next room. After opening the chest, climb the ladder and start digging in this section to get another Kinstone Piece. Defeat the Spark with the Boomerang to get another Fairy and replenish your health if needed. Go through the north door and then be careful of the flying skulls on the glowing panels. Defeat the Armos on the glowing panel so that you can create a duplicate of yourself. Go into the west door and step on the switches as a duplicate to go into the next room and enter the next room to shrink yourself. Go to the room where you duplicated yourself and enter the Armos and activate it. Go to the minish portal in that same room, and return to normal size. Push the block out of the way and then defeat the Armos. Pull the lever to get another key drop. Before going down and getting the key shrink yourself, then go down the hole. Walk through the tiny hole and return to normal size with the minish portal. Get the Heart Piece. To leave this room, do not return to minish size. Push the second block from the left towards the south door, after getting rid of the Spark of course. Go into the room where the key is located and get the key. Return to the room where you got the Dungeon Map and this time open the right door. You will need the Pegasus Boots here big time. Pulling the lever will cause the bridge to temporarily appear and disappear. Just as you see the bridge, use the Pegasus Boots and quickly make it across the bridge. After this is done, then Elzo will comment on it. In the next room, defeat the three Floor Masters. Remain normal size and continue through the east door. Once you make it down to the spiked cylinders, then go inside the trenches to protect yourself from the cylinders as they move over you. Once you are in the clear, then make it to the other side. Position the statues to the exact switches, top-left and bottom-right. You will need to duplicate yourself so that the duplicate is on top-right switch and you are on the bottom-left switch. The reason for this that if you did not lead, then the duplicate will disappear due to the fact that it cannot go through walls. Go down and step on the switches to get another small key. Unlock the south door where the spiked cylinders are located, then go into the previous room. Shrink yourself and go to the small alleyway to get back down to the spiked cylinders. You will need to go inbetween them in order to get to the south door. Be careful of the trenches as you make your way there. Once in the nex room continue west until you reach the tiny door, then enter that tiny door. Use the Minish portal to resize yourself to normal. Next, hit the switch to see a key fall from the ceiling. Then, take out the Mole Mitts and start digging to where it fell. Once you have that, become Minish again, and exit the room. Go down to where the Floor Masters are too. They cannot spot you, so make your way to the Minish portal and return to normal size. Defeat them once you are big again. Make your way to the door and claw your way to the ladder in the next room. Once you have made it to the locked door, unlock it and drop through the right hole. This will bring you to the chest with the Big Key. Push the block next to the Big Key out of your way and drop to your left. Keep going in that direction until you make it back to the room where you got the Dungeon Map. Go into the south exit and claw your way to the statue. Pull the statue onto the switch to get another Kinstone Piece. Climb the ladder and claw your way to the north door. Before unlocking the door to the north in the next room, push the top-right stone into it's place. This will get you the red warp portal. In case you are running low on supplies, crack open the skulls and refill your arrow quiver. As well, the Sparks should be taken out as well. The Boomerang can do that. You will get the Fairy then. When you are ready, go into the room where the boss is located. Boss: Mazaal This boss can be compared to bosses Bongo Bongo (Ocarina of Time) as well as Gohdan (Wind Waker)nFirst thing you need to do is fire arrows at the orbs in the hands of Mazaal. They will fall, and you can now disable them with your sword. You will need to do that one hand at a time, so watch out for the other hand while this is going on. Once both hands are out of the way, go into one of the Minish Portals and enter Mazaal's head. Destroy the pillar that is glowing with your sword until it is destroed. Once you are ejected out of the head, return to normal and repeat the process again. The hands will try to crush you as you are doing this, so make sure to roll out of the way as they try it. The second and third times you enter Mazaal's head, there will be sand around the pillars. Find the pillar that is glowing by digging with with the Mole Mitts, then destroy it with your sword. Once Mazaal is defeated, grab the Heart Container, and then go upstairs to see a cutscene where you will get the Ocarina of Wind. --------------------- 5.8 The Water Element --------------------- As you are leaving the Wind Ruins, become Minish size around the area with the two snakes and continue going west. Climb down the minished vines. When you make it to the set of three vines go down the middle one and enter the tunnel located next to it. You will get a Heart Piece once inside. As well, drop through the tiny hole in the area jest before entering Castor Wilds, and fuse a Kinstone with the Minish there. The result will be his beanstalk growing. Climb it to get a large quiver which will carry 50 arrows. Once this is done, use the Ocarina of Wind to go to Castor Wilds. The crest that you broke open can now be described as a Wind Crest, where the bird drops you too. Go to where the eastern platform is loacted and use the Mole Mitts to dig into the cave. There will be two chests in there with 50 Mysterious Shells as well as a Kinstone Piece. Just a side note, there will be mysterious walls in some of the caves that you need to dig into that you can fuse Kinstones with. Look out for little circular indentations. Next thing you might need to have is actually an upgrade of an existing one. This weapon is the Magic Boomerang. To get it, you will need to fuse Kinstones with Tingle, then talk to him to get his brothers (and cousin) on the map at the other points. Tingle is located in South Hyule Field, where your house is, just on the east side on the hill. Fusing the Kinstones will get a ladder in the North Hyrule Field area. Inside each one will be place where you can hit a switch. This will eventually result in a ladder where you had to fight those Moblins. Open the chest to get the Magic Boomerang. Look to the Kinstone Guide to find out where Tingle's brothers and cousin are located. Once you are done getting the Magic Boomerang, go to the Wind Crest at Lake Hylia. This one is already activated. Shrink yourself and talk to the Minish that occupies this place. This Minish will direct you to Elder Librari, located at the Hyrule Town Library, for information on getting into the Temple of Droplets. Although this particular Minish refers to himself as the "wisest of the wise," then he doesn't seem that wise to answer how to get into the Temple of Droplets. Go to the Library in Hyrule Town by using the Wind Crest in Hyrule Town. Go to the roof and use the Cane of Pacci on the vase. Shrink yourself and talk to the minish on the top left shelf where the elder man is located. The Minish there will tell you that there are three books missing that you will need to recover. Return to normal, and talk to the lady on the left desk. Once you leave the library with the book information and the information of the person that is holding the book, then go to the stream and use a bottle to place the water in. This will help because you will need to put out a fireplace. The woman that is in the house house with the purple roof with her boyfriend. Talk to her and she will tell you that the book is at her house. Put out the fire and use the Cane of Pacci to shrink yourself. Once minish, climb the chimney and go to the adjacent house. The book will be on top of the bookshelf. Just push it off and go back to the other house. Return to normal and go into the next house. Get the book, then return it to the Library. Return the book A Hyrulean Bestiary to the lady on the left and get your next assignment. This book was taken out by Dr. Left (a great scollar and I good name for a game like this I guess). Get another bit of water from the stream if you do not have any, then go to Dr. Left's house where the dog that was blocking your way is located. He will let you in and explain to you he cannot find the book and does not know where it is. You have to find it and surprise surprise on your own as well. It is somewhere in his house, and you will need a certain item to get it. Put out the Doctor's fireplace, then shrink yourself via the carpenter's house to the south. Go back to Doctor Left's home and climb the fireplace. Cross the plank and if you want to enter the Minish's mushroom and talk to him for a minute. Go into the yellow house via the back, and make your way to the right minish exit. Cross the plank to the other side of the stream and enter the garden with the cats. Be careful because they will scratch at you. Once you reach the south end of it from the north end, go down the vine and go inside the tiny opening on the right side of the fountain. When you are in the minidungeon go into the first door on your right, and defeat the enemies on the other side. One you are done that, charge the hole with the Cane of Pacci, and hop in it. Go north and defeat the enemies to make a chest appear. This will be the item you need, the Power Bracelets. Go back to Dr. Left's house and push the left dresser closer to the fireplace. Move the right dresser next to that one once you have gotten the left one pushed next to the fireplace. Climb the mini ladder that you revealed by moving the right dresser, then make your way over to the tiny hole in the wall. Once you make it to the top of the stairs, make it over to the third pillar. There is a minish there that is trying to knock the book down by himself. You will need more then just yourself to knock down the book. Use the Guse Jar on the dust that is on the same pillar that you started from, and then make a copy of yourself so that you and your clone will be on the same area. Go join the minish on the edge of the book. Eventually, it will fall down along with yourself. Simply just go back to the carpenter's house and return to normal size. Then, make your way back to Dr. Left's house and retrieve the book for the library. Go to the library and see the lady on the left for the book return of Legend of the Picori, as well as the final book that needs to be returned. The final book is the one that Mayor Hagen has. He will just dodge the question if you ask him about the book, and you will need to destroy all of his masks that are along his wall. Use the Pegasus Boots to run into the wall where the masks are located. The left mask will reveal a small hole. Shrink yourself and climb the small ladder. Make your way to the tiny hole, then enter it to talk to the minish. They will tell you where the book is. Basically, it is located at the Mayor's cabin. They minish will give you the location on your map. Go to the northern part of the Minish Woods near Syrup's Hut, but this time, you are not going to enter the hut. Use the Mole Mitts on the cave next to the ladder and dig your way to the ladder. Climb the ladder to make your way near Mayor Hagen's Cabin. Dash into the tree to the north of the cabin to reveal a Minish Portal. Shrink yourself and go down toward the cabin until you reach next to the water. Get on the lily pad and use the Gust Jar to make your way to the cabin. Once you enter the cabin, hop onto the other lily pad. Climb the minish stairs, and push the book off the chimney. Go back to the Minish Portal and return to normal. Go into the cabin and retrieve the book. Go back to the library. Once you return the book A History of Masks, the old man will rush down from the stairs and get the books to return to their slots. Go back to the jar outside on the second floor, and shrink yourself. Go to the bookshelf, and climb the book on the right and talk to the minish. He will give you 50 Rupees. Make your way to Elder Librari and talk to him. He will send you on a quest to get the item you need. After the rough landing (if you want to explain how you fall out of a book from the second shelf and end up in a minidungeon), you will need to push the button left block down, but first the block before that right. Once you reach the mushhroom, use the Gust Jar to get you to the other side. In order to get the item you need, you will need to defeat a pair of Scissors Beetles. Once they shoot their claws at you, attack then because that will be your only chance to. Stunning them with the Boomerang will help as well. Once you get the item, the Flippers, then you will need to go back to the Mayor's Cabin. Before going into the Temple of Droplets, go to where you seen the tree that is open. Before entering there, push the small rock into the hole. You will now have a way out. You might want to get the two Heart Pieces, as well as entering Waveblade's hut to learn a new attack. This one is called the Peril Beam. To enter the Temple of Droplets, just swim to the icy platform, and then shrink yourself. -------------------------- 5.9 The Temple of Droplets -------------------------- Be careful while you are on the ice, you will be able to fall of the edge. Once you make it to the section on the blocks are in your way, push only the middle on off the edge. Then make your way to the into the next room. The torches in the enter of that room will fire at you. As well, the pots will start to fly at you as you draw near them. Make your way to the right door. Go east and walk down the stairs. Push the lever to open the door. Go back upstairs and fall down the hole. This will get you to the block of ice. Push that block down, then right into the light. This will melt, and you get a Small Key. Push the south block to get access to upstairs again. Go back to the room with the flames shooting at you, and unlock the right door. Fall down the hole in the middle of the room. Once you are in the basement 2 room, then you will need to push the three blocks in a certain order. This order needs to be done because the middle block is the boss key. There is more to this temple then what you think, it is just that everything else is done beyond the Boss door. Anyway, here is the order in which to move these blocks: North Block: West. South Block: West, South, West. Middle Block: West, North, West, South, West, North, East. This will cause that one to melt giving you the Big Key. Push the lever to close the door, then go up and defeat the enemy up stairs. Return to the room where you origionally started. Use the Big Key to unlock the south door. Once you enter the room that you opened with the Big Key, you will notice the Water Element in the frozen ice. You will need to be prepared for more flying pots as well. Go down and enter the west door. Go south and go through the tunnel. Open the chest at the other side of it to get the Dungeon Map. Once you get the Compass, you will be able to see every prize in this complex dungeon. Go back up and enter the water. Press B to dive under water and help avoid the spiked cylinder. Keep swiming until you reach the piece of land to the west, then climb up to the ledge, and get back into the water. Keep going until you reach the spikes that are blocking your way down the waterfall. Use the Gust Jar on the elastic mushroom and let it carry yourself to the other side. Step on the switch to lower the spikes. Now is the fun part, you will need to ride the waterfall. This is real fun. Once you make it to the bottom of the waterfall, swim until you reach the platform with a statue on it. Keep in mind that you will have to watch out for the rolling-spiked cylinder as well. Go and read the statue. You will need to read it because it gives you an important clue. Hit the switch and swim where the spikes were located. Keep swimming until you see a rock-shaped pot. That clue, which read "The way forward is hidden in the bottom of the pot," was referring to this pot. Go under the water in the middle of the pot and get a small key. Swim back to the waterfall and climb the rockys beside it. Once you are at the top, go north until you reach the locked door. Unlock it and go south. Hit the switch and you will now have access to the lily pad. Pull the lily pad towards you with the Gust Jar. Use the lily pad to make your way back to the waterfall, and as you are doing this, be careful of the spike cylinders. You will need to dive underwater to avoid them, meaning that you will need to be off the lily pad. But you will be able to get back on the lily pad from the water, so don't worry about it. Go down the waterfall with the lily pad, and make your way back to where the rock pot is to, but this time you will go a bit further then that. When you see the piece of land with the switch on it, guide the lily pad to there, then get onto the land and step on the switch, This will lower the spikes. Get back on the lily pad and continue east. Once you reach the icy shore, prepare to do battle with a Madderpiller. Clear the webs to make it easier to get around. Defeat the Madderpillar the same way you did at Deepwood Shrine. Once this is done, then you will be able to go through the north door, and get the Compass. Go back onto the Lily Pad, and go back into the room you were in previous to the Madderpillar. Go north and you will see another icy platform. You will need to push more blocks, but before doing that, you will need to defeat the enemies first. Make sure that the lily pad is close to you so that you can get onto it after the switch is hit with a certain ice block. Once the enemies are defeated, then push the most northernly block south. That is all the pushing you will need to do with that one. The next block you will need to push is the most easternly one. Push this one west, south, west, and north. This will hit the switch, and lower the spikes in your way. After getting the chest that contains 50 Rupees (if you never got it already), then hop back onto the lily pad, and continue along the trail until you reach the northeast door. The next room is a dark one, and will have a cliff on it, so you can fall down in it. Lucky for you that the light can show where the the floor ends. Be careful until you reach the north door. Once you are back into the light, go up the stairs up on the cliff. Once you make it to the next room, the door will shut and you will be fighting against three Scissor Beetles. Defeat them like you did with the other two earlier in this temple. Once they are defeated, the Blue Portal will show, and both doors will open. Go through the south door. Keep going until you reach the the large switch. There is a glowing platform at the bottom of the platform you are one. Make a clone of yourself so that the clone is on the top part, and make your way to the switch. Push the switch to open 1/2 of the ceiling. This will also melt the block of ice that is in the wa of the east door. Go through the east door. After you get the chest that contains a Kinstone Piece, keep going until the icy platform is shown with the edges. Defeat all the enemies in this room, and go down the left side to get the chest containing another Kinstone Piece. Go back up and then go down the side where the traps are located. You will need to squeeze through them in order to get to the other side. Slow down and make sure that you can get through both side when you have openings. Once in the next room, you will need to enter the north room. Then, go down the stairs, as well as the next stairs to make your way into Basement 3. Push the lever to close the ceiling door. Go back upstairs and use that lever to open the ceiling door above it. Then, go back down to the third basement and push the lever to the origional spot to open the ceiling door once again. This will melt the ice to get access to the chest, which will have a small key into it. Make your way back into the room with the four ice blocks and unlock the south door. Once you enter this room, push the lever and prepare for Battle. Remember the Giant ChuChu that you had to fight at Deepwood Shrine? Well, this one is close to it except two things here. The first, different color, and secondly, and even more importantly, this one is electric. You will need to watch out for the electricity, as well, the Gust Jar will only work on it after the electric field is gone from the ChuChu. Then, use the Gust Jar on it until the bottom goo is out of it and it can fall down. Once it falls, strike it with your sword. It basically is the same strategy as the Giant ChuChu in Deepwood Shrine, but this one has the electric field. Once you defeat this one, you will not get the Earth Element, you will get the Flame Lantern. Leave that room and enter the room with the four ice blocks. Use the Flame Lantern to melt the ice blocks. Do this to get the pots as well. Go downstairs, and melt the ice block with the chest, containing 100 Rupees, then melt the ice blocks, and continue east. In the next room, you might need to light a couple of lights in order to see the Scissor Beetles. Keep in mind that there will be a limit that the fire will be there. Defeat the enemies here in order to advance to the next room. As long as you have the Flame Lantern, then you will be able to enter the next room. Keep the Flame Lantern equipped and on because you will need to use it to navigate your way through the maze. Light all of the torches in order to remvoe the blocks from the path you need to take. You will find three chests in the maze, each one containing a Kinstone Piece. The destination that you need to make it to, however, is in the middle of the left wall. Use a Bomb to blow a hole into the wall, then have your sword ready as you enter the room. Defeat all of the enemies in the room, and you will small key that will drop from the ceiling. Go back and continue your way through the maze until you reach the door. Unlock it and enter the next room. Run through it as fast as possible, because the Firewinders can do damage and cause you to run around quickly for a few seconds. Once you make it to the room with the blocks and the glowing panels, you will need to do the following with patience. Clone yourself in vertical form and push the top block to the west. Go into horzontal form and push the block south and cover up all of the floor panels there. Do the same with the adjacent block, but do not cover any of the floor panels. Get into vertical form again, and push the first block that you push east just enough to gain access to the north door. Enter the next room. If you mess up on this, leave the room and try again. Push the first ice block you see west until it is next to the rock. Go past that rock and do the same thing with the next block so that it is covering the south switch. Use the glowing panels to duplicate yourself and be careful that you do not cause the other Link to evaporate. You will need to make it to the other switches. If you cannot do it, then try again. Go to the door that you now opened once this is done. This room will need one thing done, Push the block that is out of place up until you can get the other door opened. The bad part about this is that two Firewinders are there. Make this quick and then leave the room. In the next room, use the Flame Lantern to melt the large ice block, revealing a bunch of glowing panels. Clone yourself vertically and pushthe large block that is hidden under the bridge. Go down and enter the next room. Once you are in the next room, you will need to quickly light all nine torches. They will stay lit for a brief time, but you will need to slide across each one, row by row in order to get all of them lit. It can be difficult, but it also can be done. Once all nine torches are lit, go to the next room. You will need to dive under a series of spiked cylinders in order to get to the south end of this room. There is a limit to the diving time, so make sure that you time your dives to each spiked cylinder. There will be some Scissor Beetles at the end of the room. Defeat them or try to knock them into the water. Go into the next room. The next room is the easiest thing to figure out. If you cannot figure it out then you are not thinking very well. The arrow is pointing to the section of the wall you can bomb. Place a Bomb there and while you are waiting to get into the next room, hit the switch to reveal the Red Portal. You will need the Flame Lantern in the next room, as well as dealing with another set of Madderpillars Get rid of all of the cob-webs, esspecially the one in front of the door, then defeat the Madderpillars. Removing the cobwebs makes it easier to manuver without getting damaged. Once they are defeated, then the east door will open. Make your way back to the room with the Water Element via this door. Keep in mind that you may have to defeat enemies along the way. Once you make it back to the final switch, you will need to do the exact same thing that you had to do in order to open the other side of the ceiling door. This will get the Water Element freed, as well as the boss of the Temple of Droplets, which sucks up the Water Element (all for nothing). Once you get yourself healed up by the pots down near the ends of the room, then enter where the boss went to and prepare for battle. Boss: Giant Octorok This Giant Octorok will spit out giant boulders at you. Instead of dodging them, your tiny shield can deflect them back at the beast. You do not need the sword here, so the Shield and the Flame Lantern will do. Deflect three boulders back at the Giant Octorok and it will freeze. This will also cause the entire floor to freeze as well, so be cautious of how you do this. Use the Flame Lantern to light up the flower behind the boss. Be cautious, because the Giant Octorok can hit you with it's legs, as well as freeze you with it's snout. As the Giant Octorok is defrosting, it will run around the room banging into the walls, causing rocks to fall down. Avoid them until it stops. Repeat this process to defeat the Giant Octorok, but be careful in the next two rounds. This second round, he will try to suck you up into it's snout. Avoid that by rolling around the room and out of the way. The third round will have total blackness due to the Giant Octorok's ability to shoot ink. Using the Flame Lantern will increase your vision. Once you have defeated the Giant Octorok, collect both the Water Element that it stole, and the Heart Container, then use the Green Portal to go back to the beginning of the temple. Exit the Temple of Droplets. ---------------------------- 5.10 The Wind Element Part 2 ---------------------------- After exiting the Temple of Droplets, you will get a short cutscene featuring the former King of Hyrule. After he tells you about the events, then he will place a spot on your map of where to meet this ghoul. First you will need to infuse the Water Element into the White Sword. Warp yourself to Hyrule Town, then make your way to Hyrule Castle Garden. Before going to the left to infuse the blade, go to the right and go to the southeast corner of the garden. Cut down the grass revealing a ladder. Go down it and light the torches. This is Grimblade, and he will teach you the Sword Beam. as well, grab the Heart Piece. Go to the left side of the Hyrule Castle Garden and now sneak your way to the top left side of the castle garden. You will need to sneak past the guards and keep out of their site in order to make it the grass on that side. Use the roll towards the end of it to keep the last guard from spotting you. You will get more cracks it if you get caught, and hopfully you will not. Once you make it to the grass, cut it down and enter the ladder. This will bring you to the castle basement. In the room before the castle basement, just defeat the snakes, and hit the switch at the end of that room to open the door. Go to the Elemental Sactuary and fuse the blade with the Water Element. You now have the ability to use two other clones besides yourself. This will come in handy later on. Now you must make your way to the Royal Valley. Go back to North Hyrule Field and go to the ladder and go down it. Create two copies of Link and push the big block out of the way. Continue up the ladder and make your way to the Royal Valley. You will need the Flame Lantern in order to increase your sight. As soon as you go past the stairs in the Royal Valley, go to the two posts and place a Bomb in the middle. When it explodes, go inside and meet the Great Fairy. Answer the questions she will ask correctly and she will upgrade your quiver. The answers are no, no, yes, no and no. The questons are obvious anyway, unless you are very forgetful, and that can happen. Continue until you reach the Haunted Forest. You will need to look at the signs very closly and they will get you through those woods. Incase you cannot find them, they will be on the top right part of the trail. Here is where you need to go anyway. Up, left, left, up, right, and up. Be careful of the Ghinis while you are making your way through as well. They will lick your head making you lose health. Make your way to Dampé's house and talk to him. He will give you the Graveyard Key. Here is the problem, once you leave his house, a crow will come along and take it. Dampé will be at the gate, and will let you know about the crow. The crow will be resting near a tree to the west. Put on your Pegasus Boots and startle the crow to make it drop the key. Grab the key and go back to the gate. Dampé will take back the key while you make your way inside. You will no longer need the Flame Lantern in here, so don't worry about it. Fuse Kinstones with the ghoul to have something good reveal. Go to the right side and break up the rocks and get the glowing panels to show. You will need to multiply yourself as accordance with the switches that are next to the Royal Family tomb. Before doing that, you will need to clear a path for the duplicates first. Once you have opened the tomb enter it. Defeat the Gibdos inside by using the Flame Lantern on them to turn them into Stalfos. To take out one of them will get you either a small key or 5 Bombs. Just make sure that you do not get caught by them because they will take off a lot of damage. Once they are defeated, go into the next room and choose the mushroom on the left. This will send you on the platform, unlike the other mushrooms, which will send you to your doom. Your best bet is to get the right key first. Summon your clones on the glowing panels to the right, then get them up to the switches up to the top of the room. If you or your clones get hit by the trap, then you will lose the clones as well as damage, so be careful. Once you make it to the top, step on the simltaneous switches to get the key on the right. Next is the left key. In order to reach it, which can be difficult, then you will need to have both yourself and your clones on the platforms, while moving to keep them going. Be careful of any enemies that are in the way, and once you get to the top, step on the other switches to get the key from the left. Use both Small Keys to unlock the blocks that are blocking your way to the grave of the King of Hyrule. Continue through the hallways and defeat the snakes that will come at you. Once you make it to the room where you cannot make it any further, then you will need to light the torches. Lighting them will get you into a fight with two more Gibdos. Defeat them like you did the other ones to make it to that ghoul. He will mention his name as Gustaf and will give you another Gold Kinstone. Just a quick note, that if you never fused Kinstones with the stranger in Hyrule Town to gain access to the Tower of Winds and got the Light Arrow section done, then do it now because it will be too late once you continue from this part. See the Secrets section under Light Arrows to learn how to get them. Go to Veil Falls and get the Heart Piece that is on the ground by itself. There is not much we could do against the enemies that are throwing Bombs at you, but keep going because they will only keep doing damage if you let them bother you. Go up to the door and use the Gold Kinstone that the ghoul King Gustaf gave to you. Defeat all of the enemies and make your way to the top. When you make your way to the room with the pots in the first cave that you enter, blow up the wall and get the the chest that contains 50 Mysterious Shells. Once you make it to the top, ignore the Giant Goron because he will not be an important part in this game until you fuse Kinstones with another Goron. See the Kinstone Guide for that information, or the Secrets section as well with the Mirror Shield. Go to the big whirlwind and jump into it to make it to the Cloud Tops. You will find the two siblings that are from the Wind Tribe are stuck on the clouds with no way up. Ironically, so are you. Fuse Kinstones with the both from them, and after start your way towards getting them home, as well as yourself up to the Tower of Winds. Just a side note, there are some clouds that you can fall down to get back to the lower clouds. Be careful not to fall of the bottom clous because you will lose hearts. Go north of the first Golden Kinstone Cloud Pedestal and hop into the red whirlwind. This will take you to the upper clouds. Go to the chest and open it to get the first Gold Kinstone. Drop down the hole where you can see the bottom clouds and make it those set of clouds. Defeat the Piranha with your Boomerang and hit it with your Sword to defeat it. Go to the north part of this set of clouds and make your way back up to the next bit of upper clouds. This will happen a lot in this section. Use the Mole Mitts to dig through the clouds and reach the hole in the clouds. Go down it and make your way over to the Cloud Pedestal. Fuse your first Gold Kinstone with that pedestal to activate a pinwheel. Go back up to the previous upper cloud. Hop onto the white whirlwind (the regular one) and make your way to the next whirlwind, then to the platform. You might need to make it to the third whirlwind before landing on the platform. Go down into the hole into the cloud to make it back to the lower cloud and defeat the Cloud Piranhas. Once they are defeated, you will be able to get your hands on your second Gold Kinstone. Go back up to the Upper Clouds. Use your Mole Mitts to dig out a path to the next regular whirwind. Hop onto that onem then the center one, and finally, to the top right corner to that upper cloud. Dig though the clouds to get the two chests containing 50 Mysterious Shells, then go down and dig through the other cloud parts to get to the next chest containing the third Gold Kinstone. Go back to the whirlwind that is at the place you landed, and hop back into it goind southeast, then southwest to make it to the next bit of the upper clouds. Go through the hole and make it to the bottom clouds again. There will be an Electric Lakitu there to block your path. Use the Boomerang, then your sword, or the Gust Jar to suck the cloud from under it, then use your sword to defeat it. Go to the top and fuse the next Gold Kinstones together to get the next pinwheel moving. Go back and return to the upper clouds. This time you will need to ride a long set of whirlwinds down to the southwest end of the upper clouds. Dog through the clouds to get the chest container another 50 Mysterious Shells, then go to the bottom clouds. Make your way back up to the next Cloud Pedestal, but this time you will need to defeat another Lakitu. This one is not electrified, but it can still be defeated the same way as the Electric Lakitu. Once the Lakitu is defeated, fuse your next Gold Kinstone Piece with the Cloud Pedestal and activate the third pinwheel. Use the red whirlwind next to the Cloud Pedestal and get the chest to get the fourth Gold Kinstone Piece. Go back down to the bottom clouds and go down back to the two red whirlwinds are located. Take the right whirlwind, because you do not need the left whirlwind anymore. Go to the next set of lower clouds and defeat the Cloud Piranhas. This will reveal the fifth and final Gold Kinstone Piece. Grab ir and make your way to the next upper cloud by taking the red whirlwind next to it. Open the chest next to you to get another 50 Mysterious Shells. Go down and ride the regular whirlwind south. and dig through all of the clouds. There will be a couple of Kinstone Pieces in there that you might like to have. As well, there is a smal hole that is trapped by that cloud. Go down to the lower clouds after getting rid of all of the cloud area with the Mole Mitts. Make your way to the next lower cloud go and make your way back to the upper clouds, then north to the lower clouds, where you will be next to the fourth Cloud Pedestal. Fuse Gold Kinstones with that pedestal to activate the fourth pinwheel. Go back up to that same upper cloud you were just to and use the Mole Mitts to dig your way to the regualr whirlwind. Use it to get to the next upper cloud level, then dig your way through to the final set of regular whirlwinds. Ride your way back to the start of where you started on the upper clouds. Go back down to where the siblings are located to, and fuse the final Gold Kinstone with the first Cloud Pedestal to get the final pinwheel activated creating another gigantic whirlwind. Enter the whirlwind to reach the Tower of Winds. After getting the final Wind Crest and enter the Tower of Winds, go to the second floor and talk to the old man (this is if you did the sidequest with the stranger). He will show you his appreciation by giving you the Light Arrow. There will be a little girl that will be standing in front of the stairs that will lead to the Palace of Winds. Go talk to the elder in the next room on the fourth floor, and she will give you permission to go to the Palace of Winds. The girl will move and you can now go to the ceiling. Before entering the the Palace of Winds, break open the jars to get a couple of Fairies. They can come helpful in the Palace, considering that it is not an easy place to pass. Place them into any empty bottles you may have. ------------------------ 5.11 The Palace of Winds ------------------------ Once you make a stop at the purple carpet, you will need to navigate through the narrow walkways. The Peahats will try to get in your way, but knocking off their propellors with your Boomerang will get rid of them if they are not on the land, then they will fall down which will help big time. Use either your Boomerang or your Bow to activate the active switches that are beyond your reach. They control the bridge, making it so that you will be able to move from one platform to the other. Be careful of the soft bits of ground because falling through them will cause you to lose damage. For the switches, red means horizontal and blue means vertical. Bombs can also help with switches. Just plant them next to the switch, and quickly move through the bridge before the bomb explodes. The Pegasus Boots can also help when using Bombs. When you come up to the one where the block is in your way from the switch, then move the block and use the Boomerang to hit that switch turning it to blue. Go to the top right corner of the platform where the skulls are and then duplicate yourself so that the origional Link is on the right side. Move to the giant block. Go up to the edge of this platform and wait until the moving platform reaches you. Once you are on the moving platform, you will need to run around the floating blocks. This will include stepping off the platform for a few seconds, while avoiding the bombs as well. Timing will be key so you will need to keep up with the platform to get back on it. You will need to move fast through the cracked areas of the floor to get to the steps. Rolling will help. After making it onto the next area, you will need to move fast to get past the Bob-ombs, as well as the Firewinders. If you want to, defeat the Bob-boms with either your Bow or better recommended, the Boomerang. Speaking of the Boomerang, once you make it to next area where the bridge is closed off, use the Boomerang to hit the switch turning it blue giving you access to the next platform. Be cautious of the spikes, and go next to the switch. You will need to plant a Bomb there, then cross the bridge as fast as you can before the bomb explodes. Once the bomb explodes, this will hit the switch and you will be able to go north and make it to the next section. This will be a tough battle for a great reward. The spikes will show and you will need to defeat three waves of Wizzrobes. The first wave will have four Wizzrobes, where you can stand next to one and strike it with your sword from it's behind. Once they are defeated, the second wave will appear with 5. Defeat them the same way, then prepare for the final wave. This one will have 6 of them. Keep in mind that they will appear in different places, Once all three waves are defeated, Open the chest that appears to get the Roc's Cape. If you want to, go back to the cage (use the Roc's Cape to jump to the platform that is just after or before the cage), and go up to the top part of it. Jump through the gate and open the chest to get a Kinstone Piece. Go to where the clouds are to, and use your new toy, the Roc's Cape, to jump from one cloud to the next until you reach the second floor. Be careful of the enemies that are there as soon as you make it to the top. You will need to generate speed and jump from platform to platform to get to the west side. To do this, you will need to get the other side. The second jump will have some Bombarossas floating in between the gap, so be careful of that. Once you make it to the other side, you will need to push the blocks out of your way and get to the bottom panels. Clone yourself into three and make your way to the four switches. Hit them at the same time with your swords and then prepare for a battle against two spiked Beetles. To defeat them, just basically do what you did with the ones at the Cave of Flames, flip them over with the Cane of Pacci, then defeat them with your sword. When the door opens, go into it and enter the next room. In the next room, you will need to get past the fans once they stop blowing the air. You can easily tell when they are moving by the snow that the fans emit. Jump the gap at the top where the top fan is. That fan might help you out a bit without knocking you off because of the little blocks. Make your way down and avoid the fans again. Once you reach the pair of fans that are next to the hole wait until they stop and energize the hole with the Cane of Pacci, then hop in to get to the top platform. Make your way to the next steel cage area. Use the Roc's Cape to jump through the doors in the next bit. Be careful of the Rupees, because one of them is a fake. Defeat it as quickly as possible. When you have to jump through the metal doors with the moving platform, make sure that the platform is under the door. Once you make it to the other side, then it will be great, and you will be able to reach the next set of clouds. Jump on each one to make it to the third floor. Multiply yourself into three in vertical form, and then right the moving platform to the other side. Time it perfectly so that you can create them before the platform comes. Once you make it to the other platform, then climb the stairs and push the block out of the way so that you can go down the next bit of stairs. Push the three blocks that have the symbol blocks next to them. Defeat the Crows as they come at you so they will not be a destraction. You will need to use the Roc's Cape to jump from moving platform to moving platform until you reach the bottom platform on the right side of the moving platforms. Jump into the cage door and then continue on. Use the Roc's Cape again to go through each door while aligned with the moving platform. You will need to be careful of the blocks that are still in the are, because they can knock you off the cliff. When you make it to the end of the platform, go and use the holes as shelter from the rolling spiked cylinder. Use the Cane of Pacci to energize the hole, and then enter the hole to get onto the top platform. When you make it to the glowing panels, multiply yourself so that you have one Link on the top- left and bottom-left corners, as well as the bottom-right corner panels. The swords will swing causing the switches to be hit, causing a Minish Portal to appear. Shrink yourself and enter the minish door at the bottom-right side. Push the jars that are blocking your way to the door, so that you can get to the door. It will not matter how you push them. Once you make it beyond the minish door go along past the spiked cylinders. Once you have made it through the minish door, go up to the upper part of that room and return to normal. Go back down and hit the switch with your Boomerang. This will cause a small key to fall from the ceiling. Grab the small key and leave the room. Once outside, jump over the gap and go back to where the Minish Portal is where you turned into a minish. Go back to the spiked cylinder and use the Roc's Cape to jump over it. Go to the door and open it using the small key. Use the Roc's Cape again togo up the clouds and to the next floor. Upon arriving on the fourth floor, take out either your Bow, or better yet, your Boomerang and hit the Moblins from a distance. This will stun them, allowing you to finish them off with your sword. Once they are defeated, continue on to the next section. This part is tricky. You need to use the Roc's Cape to get to leap to the other bridge. The part stopping you is the fans. There are You will need to jump across the wind gusts and time them perfectly so that you can perfectly make it to the other side without getting knocked off. This may take some time, but it can be done. Climb the stairs, and move the blocks, then jump over the spikes, while looking out for electric ChuChus. Go in front of the fan while facing left. If you time this right, and jump when the fan starts spinning, the current should carry you past the torches and to the other side. This may take some time, but it will be worth it in the end, esspecially if you get it done the first time. You will need to jump from platform to platform while hurring because they will crumble from under you. Just ignore the Lakitus that will fire at you. If they get on your nerves, then use the Gust Jar on them. You will need to find a safe spot first though. Once you make it to the other side, then be prepared for more jumping. Like the above pargraph mention, prepare for more jumping. Jump to the top of the clouds, then jump to the next platform. While on the next platform, go up the stairs and cross the cage to the other side to get the chest containing a Kinstone Piece. Go back and ascend another set of clouds and go to the next platform, and then the same thing until you reach the final platform. Once on the final platform, ascend the clouds to the next floor. Do not worry about that Heart Piece until later on. Go south and get ready to fight two Ball & Chain Soldiers. To defeat them, leap over them as they attack to that you are behind them, then attack them from behind. Once you defeat both (a fairy might be needed here as well), then a small key will come into the middle of the hallway. Use it to unlock the left door. Push a pot onto one of the four switches. Make yourself into three using the panels that are matched up with the three free switches. Step on the switches and enter the next room. In the previous room before this one, there was a Spark that you could hit with your Boomerang to get a Fairy and replenish some health. Step on the lone floor switch to activate the fan. Use the Roc's Cape to jump in front of it going to the other side. Now you will need to defeat two Ice Wizzrobes as well as two Moblins. Defeat the Moblins before defeating the Ice Wizzrobes. Once they are defeated, go into the next room. Go east and jump the gap. Defeat the Red Stalfos (which will throw their arms at you), by using your Boomerang to stun them then attack them with your sword. Go to the next room, then hit the switch like you did the previous Fan to activate this one, then do the same thing to get to the other side. Push the block just below the chest, then open the chest to get a small key. Push the upper-right corner blocks to gain access to the room that you were in before you went to step on the four switches. Open the north door, then enter it to get the Big Key. If you need it again, hit the Spark to get the Fairy to replenish your health. Enter the room where you had to fight the Ball & Chain Soldiers, and go south to open the door with the Big Key. Take the plunge after Elzo is done noticing the lower platform. This will get you back to the first floor. You will now need to defeat a Dark Nut. When it attacks, either roll or jump over it, then attack it from behind. The best thing to do is to knock it off the edge. Once the Dark Nut is defeated, then a Blue Portal will appear and a bridge will extend to the north. You will need your Flame Lantern once you enter that room. Defeat any Red Stalfos that are in your way, and go to the right platform to get the chest. This will be the Compass. Go to the left platform and climb the stairs. Go north, then east and fall down the hole in the next room. Open the chest to get a small key. Jump off that platform and go back upstairs. Go through the south door and defeat all of the Peahats with the Bow. Then, smash the pots on the top right corner revealing some glowing panels. Create the other two Links so that they are one space apart. Be careful of the cracked spaces as well. What you might need to do is get to to is go just below the four switches, then face north and strike them simultaneously with your sword. This will open the left door. Enter it and get ready for jumping. Jump over each of the spike cylinders as they come toward you. There is one in the first row, and two in the second row. After getting past all three, climb the stairs and open the chest to get a small key. Go right and enter thr previous room. Use the small key to open the door on the right. You will need to use Elzo a bit here. Use the Roc's Cape to jump to leap inside the south whirlwind and make your way and make your way to each whirlwind until you make it to the other platform on the most easternside of the room. The Bombarossas will be around the area, you will need to be careful of them. In the next room, go down the stairs and make your way to the north part of that room. Go into the next room and get ready to fight three Fire Wizzrobes. Defeat them to get the Dungeon Map. Continue to the next room and defeat the Floor Masters. Pull the lever to get access to the south door. Enter it to go to the next floor. Remember that Heart Piece that you seen while jumping platforms from the clouds. Now is your chance to get it. Deal with the Undead enemies, then go to the top left of this side of the room from where you just entered. Push the blocks down into the previous floor, then use the Roc's Cape to jump over that gap. Enter the door and keep going up to get the Heart Piece. Go back to the previous room and you will need to go to the right side this time. You will need to time it right here. Use any long-range weapon to hit the Bombarossa while it is next to the cracks. This will get you access to the right side of the room. Jump the gap to the other side and use continue to the north end of this side of the room. Hit the switch with your Boomerang to open the adjacent door. This will enable you to reach the treasure chest that holds 200 Rupees. Lighting the torches will also activate the Red Portal on the northeast side of the room. Unlock the stairs, and go up then. Bomb the right wall and walk outside to the platform only to be greeted by Wizzrobes and Stalfos. Blow another hole at the top left side of that wall and go inside. Bomb the cracked blocks in this room to reach the north door. You will need to be careful not to detonate any of the Bombarossas in this room. It will cause a chain reaction where the switch will be hit causing the door to close. If this happens, leave the room and try it again. Walk around them and then move the blocks once you reach the blocks to the north end of the room next to the door. Move the one between two Bombarossas north and the one next to the left Bombarossa left. Go into the next room and get the Small Key. Once you reenter the room with the Bombarossas, it will not matter what you do because you do not need to enter that north room again. Use the Boomerang on one of the Bombarossas to start that chain reaction, enter the next room. You will need to fall down the cracks there in order to reach the locked door below you. Once you are back on the fourth floor, use the small key on that door. This will take out outside. The block Maze will be swarming with enemies such as Wizzrobes. Fight your way to the southeast corner and use the Roc's Cape to get to the northeast corner. The right clouds will get you a Kinstone Piece, while the left set of clouds will take you to the boss. Once you are up to the room before the boss, then heal yourself up, then hop into the big whirlwind. Boss: Gyorgs Just like most Zelda games, last temple boss to get the last thing you need (the Spirit Sage in Ocarina of Time, the last boss mask in Majora's Mask, etc.) will place you against two bosses. The Gyorgs are no exception. You will start the fight on the Blue Gyorg, but you will need to jump onto the Red Gyorg. Use the glowing panels to match up with the eyes that the Gyorg will open. Striking them at the same time will result in all eight eyes opening. Keep hitting them until the boss starts to explode, then hop onto the Blue Gyorg again. The smaller one will have four eyes, one in each corner. Quickly hit one as it opens, an watch out for the spinning tail. Jump over it as it swings at you. You will eventually be put back on the bigger Gyorg. Repeat the process until both are defeated. This will be tough because the second round, the smaller Gyorg will be spitting projectiles at you while you are trying to attack the big one. Wait until the projectile passes until getting onto the third panel, because the clones will vanish if anything touches them. This will leave you with a tiny bit of an opportunity. As well, look out for the mini-Gyorgs. They will fly across the screen. Knocking them out of the sky may get you a heart sometimes. Once they are defeated, you will get the long awaited Wind Element. --------- Side Note --------- Before beginning this section, you might need to so a few things. Sto by Swiftblade's hut to learn the final of the seven Tiger Scroll attacks, the Down Thrust Attack. As well, you will to go to Castor Wilds and visit Swiftblade I. He will teach you the Great Spin Attack. If you want to learn more, then see the Tiger Scrolls section. As well, if you want to get any more Heart Pieces, fuse more Kinstones, as well as find out secrets, then do so before entering the castle, because once you get the last element into the White Sword, then you will no longer be able to get some fusions. When you are ready, then go into the Castle. Once item you may need is the Remote Bombs. Fuse Kinstones with the Elder in the Minish Woods. This will get the inventor thinking. Go to him and you will now be able to get Remote Bombs. You can trade back at anytime as well. ----------------------- 5.12 Dark Hyrule Castle ----------------------- Sneak back into the castle through the garden once again and make your way into the Elemental Sanctuary. Drop you blade into the pedestal, and watch as the White Sword now becomes the Four Sword. Enter the chamber and watch the short cutscene. You will remember the first part of it because it is the same thing at the beginning of the game. The added twist reveals Princess Zelda as the Light Force Vaati is after. Vaati finds this out, as well that the Princess is stone, that does not help any situation. While exiting the sanctuary, charge the Four Sword and fire it at the people that have now become statues. This will return them to normal also getting the explanation of what occured. Remove the guard that is blocking the door to get into Dark Hyrule Castle. Upon entering Dark Hyrule Castle, go left and climb the stairs. Defeat the Moblin that is on guard of the area. Be careful of the left door because it is a fake, and will collaspe on you, like the ones in the Ocarina of Time. Go north and sneak past the spokes of fire to make it to the next room. Use the Boomerang to defeat the red and blue Wisps, and to stun the Stalfos that will jump out of the floor. Blast a hole into the wall where the cracked section is located, and shrink down to Minish size with the Minish Portal. Go back to where the spokes of fire are to and drop into the second basement. Ignore the Spark seeing how it can crush you, and go north until you see the mini hole in the wall. Walk into it to get to the Minish Portal. Return to normal and step on the switch to open both the jail cell you are in and the jail cell that the real King of Hyrule is in. Go to the cell where the King is and free him from the curse with the Four Sword. Talk to him to recieve a small key, and then make your back upstairs. If you want to, go back to where the Spark is and defeat it. Instead of trying to get past the fire again, go to the side and use the four clone ability to move the large block. I know it takes only two clones, but make sure that you are one of the ones pushing it because the clones will not be able to on their own. Go down towards the south door and open it. I will remind you that the left door there is a fake. The next hallway will contain Wizzrobes, Stalfos, and Moldorms. Fight your way to the end of the hallway and turn north to get the Dungeon Map. Once you have the Dungeon Map, go back and climb the stairs that you saw on your way to the Dungeon Map. Go north and then left at the split hallway. When you reach the floor panels, clone yourself, but make sure that you do not get hit by the cannonballs. Swing the cannonballs back at the cannons. The barricade that is behind them will lower. Fight the Floor Masters in the next room and keep away from the pots that are on the left side of the room. Once you reach the room with the blue tiles, you will need to turn them to red, but do it in a special order in order to get the right door opened. Before giving you the order, if you mess it up, then hit the switch and try it again. As for the order, go four tiles right, three tiles up, one tile left, two tiles down, one tile left, two tiles up, one tile left, two tiles up, one tile right, one tile down, one tile right, one tile up, one tile right, one tile down, and one tile right. Make your way to the next room, then into the room after that. Remember getting the right small key in the Royal Family Tomb? Well this next part is basically the same with the trap. Create the three other clones and make your way through both sides while the trap is moving downward so that you do not get hit by the trap. Once you reach the south end of the room, hit the switches to get the treasure chest containing a small key. Go back to the castle entrance (not the way you came in but the actual one that was blocked off after the Water Element was retrieved), and unlock the stairs on the right side. When you enter the stairs, at the bottom of them, you will have to deal with Wizzrobes and Stalfos. Defeat the monsters as fast as you can. Go north until you reach a square of glowing panels. Defeat the Stalfos that will pop up from the floor, and multiply yourself in vertical formation. You will need to defeat all four of the cannons at the same time. To do this, charge up your sword to do a spin attack, and stand between the cannons and release the attacks as the cannonballs are about to hit you. This may take some time, but it can be done. The Keatons in the next room, if they hit you, they will take Rupees from you. Defeat them, then blow a hole in the lower left wall. Go through the hole into the next room, and watch out for the Firewinders. Go north and climb the stairs. In the room with the throne, the Red Dark Nut will be a tough opponent, but fun. Stun him by dropping a Bomb next to it. This will not only stun the Dark Nut, allowing for some quick sword striking, but it will do a lot of damage as well. After defeating the Dark Nut, go into the next room and open the chest to get the Compass. Go back and push the throne to reveal a flight of stairs. Go down them In the basement, you will need to continue on to the other flight of stairs in the part of the room. You will need to move fast because both rooms have cracked spots in the floor. Once you make it to the stairs go up them and you will be in the room where you got the Compass, just on the other side of it. Go into the next room, and go to the next flight of stairs to the next floor. You will need to ride the whirlwinds to the other side, but before doing that, ride a couple to the first platform where the cannons are located. You cannot defeat these ones, but you can defeat the Bow Moblin. It will shoot you out of the sky if you do not. Once you have defeated the Bow Moblin, continue to the south end of the room and get the pots before entering the next room. Once you are in the next room (as well as back inside the castle) then clone yourself and make your way carefully past the spokes of fire. You will need the other three partners to push the large block out of the way in order to reach the right exit, and go back outside the castle. You will need to use another series of whirlwinds in order to get to the south part of the castle. Going up the stairs in the tower will only lead you to some pots. You will need to go east until you reach the gap. Use the Boomerang to get the bridge to extend. Defeat the Moblins on the other side, and go back into the castle. You will need to summon your clones in a certain way to match up with the switches in order to open the north door. The bottom two will need to be on the bottom corner glowing platforms, while the two on top will need to be a space apart, one space next to each corner. Go up and at the same time swing the sword so that it hits the switches at the same time. This will open that door, and now you can go through it. In the room with the Bosslocked Door, you will need to defeat two Ball & Chain Soldiers. You can either use Remote Bombs, or do exactly as you did in the Palace of Winds and use the Roc's Cape. Once they are defeated, both left and right doors will open, and the Red Portal will appear. If you need this time to heal up, then use the Red Portal and exit the castle. There is a Fairy Fountain located in North Hyrule Field, where it is the closest and cheapest place to regain some health. If you need any more potions, then visit Syrup, who will sell you some more healing potion, which will help big time. If you left the castle, then go back into the castle and use the Red Portal to get back to the spot where you left off. Go into the left door, then the north door to enter the room with the Bob-ombs. They cannot hurt you in this room, so don't worry about them. You will need to blow up the cracked blocks to reach the north door. To do this, drop a Bomb in front of you, and as pick it up and throw it just as it is about to blow up. This is tough to do, but it can be done. If you want to risk damage, then use a Bomb and jump to the gap when the moving platform is next to the blocks. If you have a Romote Bomb, then you might have to exchange it for a regular one temporarily. Then, after you have completed this part, switch it back. Once this is done, then use the moving platform to get to the gate and use the Roc's Cape to get to the cage, and use the Boomerang to hit both switches. This will open the north door next to the pots. Go back to the moving platform and to the other side where the cracked blocks used to be, then go into the north door. Go into the right room, and if you need to, use the Boomerang on the Sparks to get some Fairies if you need them. Enter the north room and prepare to fight a Black Knight. Use Bombs on the Black Knight because they will stun it for a longer period of time then what the Red Dark Nut. You will need to stay quick on your feet when striking with your sword however because the Knight will strike and take plenty of damage. The Blue Portal, as well as a few other Dark Nuts you will need to defeat. Go back into the room where you seen the Sparks and revive your health with the Fairies. Go to the right room and get ready to face off against the first two Dark Nuts. Use the Bombs (need Remote Bombs for better use) as well as your sword to defeat them, then go through the north door and equip the Lantern. You will need timing, and speed in the next room. You need to use the Fire Lantern to light up all eight torches will avoiding the spokes of fire. Keep in mind that the torches will remain lit for a short period of time, like the nine ones in the Temple of Droplets. You will need to move through this as fast as possible. Once all eight are lit, then you can go through the north door. Defeating only one of the Ghinis will make the other three disapprear in frightfulness. This will cause the right door to open. Make sure that they don't grab you and start licking, they could bounce you from one Ghinis to another until causing a lot of damage. Once the right door opens, go through it. Go up the stairs and open the chest to get the small key. Once you got that done, go back to the room where you had to fight the to Dark Nuts. Go through the south exit. Jump through the cage door and go down the cage platform to the south end of the room. Drop down behind the large and go through the south door. This room will put you against another Dark Nut. Use Bombs against it to stun it and use your sword to strike it with. If you run out of Bombs, then try to get it caught up on one of the green hearths that are in the room and hit hom from the side. Once you get rid of the Red Dark Nut, go into the next south room. For this next step, you can do it either one of two ways. You can either summon your other pals and carefully walk past the fire, then strike each switch with all four after you stand next to each one. The better step to do is to just do it yourself. This will help avoid getting you frustrated if the spokes of fire where to hit your clones. Basically, you need to stand in the middle of it and charge up your sword. Execute the spin attack to hit all four switches. This will get you access to the right door. If you want to defeat the two Wizzrobes, then go ahead because they can be annoying anyway. Go to the switch on the right side of this room and stand on it to open the left door. Go up and grab the small key from the chest. Return to the room with the Red Portal, then enter the left room. If you went to the basement, then it would have been pointless because there are only Gibdos in there. Two more Dark Nuts are waiting for you to fight. Use the same techniques that you did on the other Dark Nuts with the Bombs, or you can use the hearths as well to sneak up on them. Another way to defeat them is wait for them to charge you and then hit them from behind. This is a bit risky to do, because of the other Dark Nut, unless you got one Dark Nut left, but depending on how you do it, it still can be risky. Go into the south room once you defeat the Dark Nuts. The next room will pit you against another set of Dark Nuts. The switch is there once again if you mess up. Here is the order for this one. Down four, right one, up one, right two, down one, right three, up one, left one, up one, left three, up one, left one, up one, right two, down one, right two, up one, right one, down two, and right one. Defeat another group of Ghinis that will be in the next room, and exit the castle. Go to the tower on the left, and enter it. The right stairs will get you to some vases that will contain some Arrows and Bombs, which will be helpful on your quest. The stairs on the left side will get you to the third of the four keys. Go back into the castle once this is done. Go back to the room after the room where you had to get rid of the cracked blocks. In that room there is another of the Dark Nuts. This will be the final one for now. Use the Bombs or the hearths to defeat it. Once it is defeated, you will have access to the north room. Enter that room. Defeat the Stalfos and Floor Masters that are in this room, and make your way to the north wall being careful of the spokes of fire of course. You will need to shoot the eyes within a certain time limit before they open again. You will also need to be faster then you normally are to in order to beat the spokes of fire from hitting you. This will take some time. If you need to get more Arrows, then go into the cracked blocks room and break open the pots. Then go back into the next room and back into the previous room to repeat this process until you got your quiver full. Then try it again. Once you get all four eyes, which can be done, then enter the room on the left. Push the top two blocks to the right and the bottom one down, then enter the hole. Go back up the stairs and everything will return to normal. Go to the left stairs and get the final of the four small keys. Go back into the room with the Blue Portal, then enter the room after it. Use the collected keys to unlock the locks to get a chance to move the large block. Break the pots to the right to reveal four glowing panels. Multiply yourself into four and push the block just enough so you will have access to the stairs. Climb the stairs to get the Big Key. If you need to recharge your health, then go back to the North Hyrule Field Fairy Fountain and recharge your hearts. As well, Syrup will have some health potion which will help out big time with Vaati. Return to the room with the Red Portal in it and replenish your health if you never left the castle, as well as stock up on your items such as Bombs, and Arrows, and so forth. Then, unlock the Boss Lock and reach Vaati before the bell rings three times. Ignore the Ball & Chain Soldiers and get a move on. Multiply quickly in the next room and defeat the Keatons along the way. Step onto the switches and go into the next room. There is only one thing that stops you from getting to Vaati. This is three Dark Nuts. Try to get the three of them next to the Bombs that you lay. This will be the fastest way because you can defeat them easier. Time is a factor here, so defeat them all at once. Once This is done, then prepare for Vaati. ---------- 5.13 Vaati ---------- This is it. The final showdown with Vaati. Patience is needed here, because the showdown will consist of three rounds. Round 1: Round one is the basic showdown with the would-be "Master of the World" Wizard. Cut down the eyeballs that are revolving around Vaati. This will expose his weak point (Vaati himself). When the eyes stop they are about to fire some lasers. Do not stand in front of them. Watch out for the flames that will be spread from Vaati as well. After a hurting is put on Vaati, he will surround himself with revolving dark eyes. Use the Gust Jar to uncover the darkness before destroying them. If you need more life, then the pots contain Fairies and hearts. Round 2: This round will begin after Vaati talks about being master. Fire some arrows into his eyes to reveal four red eyes. Multiply yourself into that formation and strike the eyes at the same time. When they crush, you will be able to slice the giant eye that is in the center. The second form of Vaati will also shoot electric projectiles as well as cover the ground with some harmful black dust. If the dust is cut, sometimes it will give you hearts and arrows. When you are multiplying into four, make sure that your back is turned to Vaati. I know that is not a good sign of respect, but it will make sure that you do not accidentally hit one of the eyes with your sword while charging. Once you have defeated the second round of Vaati, you will be returned to the place where Zelda is. Use the Four Sword to break the curse on her and guide her to the Elemental Sanctuary. Just as you are about to enter the Sanctuary, Vaati will be ready for the final round. Round 3: This is it. The final round, and the final chance to take out Vaati once and for all. First thing you need to do is to concentrate on avoiding Vaati's claws and dodging the electric bolts until one of his arms comes up through the ground. Use the Cane of Pacci on it at that moment to turn it upside down, and become Minish from the Minish Portal at the top of the room. Enter that arm and destroy the eye with the red pupil. Vaati's second arm interior will be dark, so you will need to use the Flame Lantern in order to see which one has the red pupil. Once both arms are destroyed, then you will need help from your clone brethren for this final part. The small eyes that are in front of Vaati will fire a row of electricity at you in ball form. You need to deflect them back into the eyes and then hack at Vaati. Keep this up until Vaati is destroyed. Congradulations. You have now finished The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Continue on reading to see all the secrets in this game. ------------------- 6. Hyrulean Secrets ------------------- Picolyte Vendor: To get the Picolyte Vendor, just use the Gust Jar on the dirty stall located in Hyrule Town. If you want to know what Picolytes are, then they are potions that will temporarily increase your luck of finding items. For example, then Red Picolyte will increase your odds of finding more hearts. You will start off with three of them, red, white, and green. You will see the effects at the table below. You can add three more to his inventory. The Minish at the barrel in the Minish Village will be developing new types of Pico Blooms. If you talk to him then he will request that you get him some items to make more Picolyte. The three liquids are Lon Lon Milk, which you can buy from Malon in Hyrule after helping Malon and Talon get back into their house. The next one is from a Red Potion, which you can find at in the Minish Woods at Syrup's House. Once you fuse Kinstones with the Minish in the southeast corner in South Hyrule Field, she will sell it to you. You will need to bang into the tree in order to reveal a Minish Portal. The easiest one to get will be the Mount Crenel Mineral Water. It is free, and you will find it on Mount Crenel. Once you deliver these liquids to the Minish, it will take a few minutes for the Pico Bloom to blossom. Once it does, the Picolyte Vendor will turn it into the resulting picolyte. The following is a chart that will explain the effect of each Picolyte: Color Liquid Effect Green nothing Find Mysterious Shells Red nothing Find Hearts White nothing Find Kinstone Pieces Blue Mount Crenel Mineral Water Find Items Orange Red Potion Find Fairies Yellow Lon Lon Milk Find Rupees Treasure Game Shop: Gambling is one thing here. This is like the one in Ocarina of Time, except there are no extra rooms, as well as no keys in this one. It costs 10 Rupees and you have a chance to double your Rupees. All you need to do is guess the right chest. Depending on if you fused Kinstones with the ghoul in the Royal Valley, then you will have a choice between easy and hard. If not, then it is just the easy version. The hard version will make you choose from three chests, with the Rupees tripled. The catch is that you need to pick from three chests. Simon's Simulations Located in Hyule Town (just like the Treasure Game Shop), Simon's Simulations will put you to the test against enemies in a virtual arena. The part that is not good in this is that if you lose all your hearts, you will perish. I know it should be different but that is all that you can do. The first round prize is a Heart Piece, if you come out with the victory. Other prizes will be like Kinstone Pieces, or Rupees. Hyrule Underground: Located in Hyrule Town are two underground areas. The Mole Mitts are needed to enter the cave the south of the mayor's house. The other entrances include the Hyrule Town Well, Mayor Hagen's house, and the schoolhouse. The red one will boost your strength, the blue one will boost your defense, and the green one will do both, but only to a lesser extent. Fusing Kinstones with Bremor from the Post Office will get the carpenters to build another house, which another girl can move into. Cucco Wrangling: If you read the section The Fire Element, then the paragraph that begins with "Want to earn some quick cash?," then you would know that you can grab some Cucco's for that girl in Hyrule Town. She will ask you to get you to get a number of Cuccos within a time limit. The best item to use for this is the Pegasus Boots. The Golden Cuccos will need to be thrown while you pick them up to make up for some time. Each challenge will get tougher and tougher. The Cuccos are also spread across town making it difficult as well. You will get 10 Rupees per Cucco, and 50 per Golden Cucco, as well as other prizes such as Mysterious Shells, a Kinstone Piece, and of course, a Heart Piece. Inn Gifts: Whenever you stay at the inn, you will recieve a free Kinstone piece. The 50-Rupee cheap room will come with a green Kinstone, and a 200-Rupee room will contain a blue Kinstone. The 400 Rupee room will contain a red Kinstone that is under the pillow. The others are in jars. Music House: Collect all 130 Figurines in the treehouse on the southwest corner of Hyrule Town, then talk to the man next to the Music House. He will let you in once this is achieved. Talk to the Moblin and get 50 Rupees, then exit the house and go back in it. Talk to Percy again and you will get 100 Mysterious Shells. Business Scrubs: These annoying little guys are found in different locations around Hyrule. You will need to deflect the nut that they spit back at them so that they can talk to you. They will give you items to sell to you (some at bad prices as well as good ones). They will have some items that you need anyway throughout the quest. Here is a chart of the locations of each Business Scrub: Location Item Cost Trilby Highlands Bottle 20 Mount Crenel's Base (Bottom) Nothing Gives you Advice Mount Crenel's Base (Top) 10 Bombs & Grip Ring 30 & 40 Castor Wilds 30 Arrows 30 Minish Woods (reach by fusing Kinstone Piece 200 Kinstones with Scrub at Castor Wilds) Golden Monsters: If you fuse Kinstones with certain people, you will end up with some Golden Enemies. Go to the second floor and use the Gust Jar to get rid of the ghost that is tormenting the old man. When you return to the Tower of the Winds to try to reach the Palace of Winds, then make sure that you visit the old man. In his gratitude, he will give you the Light Arrows. Charge them up to see the light. Mirror Shield: There is a Mirror Shield in the game, but it will be tough to get. You will need to summon all the Gorons to the cave and return there after fusing the Four Sword. Fuse Kinstones with the Goron on the right to wake the Biggoron on top of Veil Falls. Go talk to the Biggoron and he will tell you to come back when you accomplish a major task. That major task is a bit tough because it requires that you finish the game twice. Doing this will get you the mirror shield. Wallet Upgrades: You will need to buy the first wallet upgrade from the shop (with the Big Rupee) in Hyrule Town which will let you carry 300 Rupees. Press the button that you assigned then to, then walk away a certain distance. Press the button again to make them detonate. You can switch back to normal bombs as well whenever you want. Only then will the Boomerang be on display. Purchase it for 300 Rupees. To get the Magic Boomerang, you will need to fuse Kinstones with Tingle, then talk to Tingle. He will mention about his brothers, and his cousin. Fuse with them to reveal all four openings in the trees in North Hyrule Field. Lighting the torches will get the ladder to show in the middle of the four trees. Go down it and open the chest to get the Magic Boomerang. The difference is that the Magic Boomerang can be controlled while the regular one cannot. Quiver Upgrades: There are three quiver upgrades, just like the wallet upgrades. Figurines ------------- There are 130 figurines in this game that you can collect. You will need only 1 shell for each drwaing, and it will work like a lottery. You will get chances as well like for example, 1 shell on the first draw is 100%, while in the next draw it will be 98%. If you go below 50%, you will need to use more stones just to keep above 50, giving yourself a better chance at another one. Collecting Shells: You can find shells in chests, under rocks, in the grass, pretty much anywhere in Hyrule. As well, you can buy 30 Shells for 200 Rupees in the shop in Hyrule Town. Gaining access to the Figurine shop: To gain access to the figurine shop, you will need to have the Cane of Pacci to use on the pot at the Coffee shop. After shrinking yourself, make your way over to the dog on the other side of the stream, and talk to the dog. He will move for you, and you can return to normal size to go to the tree at the southwest corner of Hyrule Town. Music House: The Music House is mentioned here, because the owner is outside the Coffee shop. After getting all 130 figurines, talk to him and he will let you into the music house, where you can get the Heart Piece, as well as listen to the game's music. Here is how you get all 4 Bottles: Bottle 1: In order to climb Mount Crenel, you will need a bottle to store the Mount Crenel Mineral Water. Once you have deflected the Scrubs nut back at it, then talk to it to get Bottle #1. Bottle 2: Go to South Hyrule Field and when you are on Stage 2 of the Kinstone guide and fuse Kinstones with Smith. The chest that appears in Eastern Hills will contain bottle #2. Bottle 3: You will need to do an errand for the shopkeeper in the Items shop for the third bottle. This one is listed in the Wind Element Part 1 section. After talking to the dog in Lake Hylia, you will need to shrink yourself in the Coffee Shop and walk across the plank to get into the Item shop.
