Introduction --------------- Create the perfect pet for your Sims to train, play with, and love throughout a lifetime. Pick everything from their paws to their personality. Choose from dozens of popular dog and cat breeds like Schnauzer and Siamese. Or create a unique cat or dog by modifying their features and body type. Your Sims can teach their pets tricks, take them for a romp in the park to meet other furry friends, or buy them toys, beds, and much more. But pets have minds of their own-so expect the unexpected! ---------------------- 2. Whats new ------------ Your sims now have pets to love, breed, play with, and spoil with the many new pets objects. ---------------- 4. Getting a pet ---------------- In the Sims 2 Pets there are 3 ways you can get a pet. You can go to a store and buy a pet, you can pick up the phone and adopt a pet or you can create one when you create your family. ------------------ 4.1 Adopting a pet ------------------ To adopt a pet click on the phone and then under services and there will be an option called Pet Adoption Center. For a fee based on the training the pet has, you can adopt a pet. Alternately, when you interact with strays, you can eventually develop a good enough relationship to adopt one via the Adopt interaction (which will appear when your relationship is good enough). ------------------ 4.2 Creating a pet ------------------ Inorder to create a pet you must create the pet in CAS. If you have University, you can use the merge households option to add pets to existing families after creating them in CAS. Otherwise, you'll have to create the pets at the same time as your human family (or create them in a placeholder family and then give the pet up for adoption). ---------------- 4.3 Buying a pet ---------------- Buy a pet from a pet store. Player Sims can run pet stores (with OFB), or you can include dog and/or cat 'bins' in a community lot store just like you do food or clothing. This will bring up roughly the same options as creating a pet via CAS. ----------- 5. The Pets ----------- In the Sims 2 Pets there are many different types of pets and different interactions with each type of pet and of coures different responsabilites for that pet. Here is a list of the pets that have been added to the Sims 2: Birds, Fish, Womrats, Cats and Dogs. ----------- 6. Pet jobs ----------- Before I start, there are some things you must realise. Cats will earn more than dogs. Thats the first rule of thumb. The second rule of thumb is that there are 4 levels in each career path.
